Nah, I don't think anyone has ever aimed at the field LOL. But in 2005, I did have an SU fan pull up his shirt to reveal a gun....we were talking noise to him, but we shut up real quick. I brought my then-girlfriend to that game with me- the look on her face when that guy showed his piece!

Phrat, You did the Right thing!!!
Mane, them Native BR Jags are No Joke..... Just be quiet, Don't Cheer too much, and exit gracefully.... or
THAT'S YOUR ARSE MR. POSTMAN!!!

Them boys from Scotlandville have always been some troublemakers. I used to hear some serious horror stories when dudes used to walk off-campus to Popeyes or Church's. I'm glad I had a car to avoid those brothers waiting on some free chicken.

Whoever attended SU definitely can relate to the scene below in the movie "School Daze". I'm sure Bradford Marsalis might had a say in making that scene.

Jaguar Nation.... Nothing Like It!!

And that's what's wrong with my alma mater. We are too tame. We have to be ratchet to win the SWAC.

you do NOT have to be ratchet to win in the SWAC. We have way more dignity and class than that....leave that type of behavior to Jackson State...it really hasn't helped them win multiple championships in football.

good to see that MVSUAPB Delta Classic talk heating up. It makes too much sense financially & proximity wise. I think it will turn into a great rivalry. The fight over the Delta, WHO RUN IT?

True.........I saw some ugly stuff....odd enough, mostly on campus after hours.....

Were those the same officers along with the Louisiana Highway Patrol who escorted Comegy and company in and out of Mumphy after he called su hostile and backed it up with a win? They didn't look too happy but they did their jobs.:emlaugh:

Do you see all these people in this thread telling their stories? That is called PASSION!!! We are too tame as a fanbase. Everybody wants to be the 80s U but we want to be damn Notre Dame :smh:. We need to get our hands dirty. Being classy has allowed Grambling to not play in Spinks since 2007.

No, the carousel of inept admins is the reason y'all haven't played Grambling at home since 2007.

For SU:

1) SU vs. JSU- I don't think any HBCU rivalry involves as much as this one does. lol

2) SU vs. GSU- A team that I enjoy seeing us beat. Also enjoyed putting a beatdown personally on their band for 4 years as well.It is tamer than the JSU rivalry, but there is still heat between the 2 schools.

3) SU vs. FAMU- Very historic rivalry. It seemed like all of the games from 2000 to present came down to the wire. I still remember losing that 2000 game when Pete chose to be conservative and kick a FG instead of going for it on 4th and short. Knowing our defense couldn't stop FAMU's offense, I think the whole crowd was chanting go for it. After the FG, FAMU came back down the field with little effort, ran the clock, and kicked the game-winning FG.

4) SU vs. Alcorn- I never really disliked Alcorn until last season when they beat us for our homecoming game. Seeing that Samoan dude run over to our crowd and talk noise to fans and then seeing him get a full cup of ice thrown in his face really showed me that some level of hate existed. lol

5) SU vs. UAPB- Folks sleeping on this, but a lot of stuff has happened when these 2 have squared off. I was there for the 97 triple OT game, I was there for the 2007 game with UAPB getting 2 chances to kick the game-winning FG, I was there for 2008 with the double OT game, and we all saw the fight and ending to the 2011 game.

LMAO..man you lying
Them students over there are ruthless...man them dudes don't give a shat..it was worse in the 90s when we started kicking azz..LMAO...and when I was over there...bruh I remember a JSU fan sat they happy ass over there in the mid-90s and I think they were winning and he stood up shakin his shaker talkin trash...man the cops had removed that cornball and his family, shat had got real LMAO smh....the students had calmed down but now I think they gettin back to cutting up....but in the 90s..man..they would let the opposing teams and bands have it Lmfao...smh..yall aint shat (SU alums) Lmao...po us..

Good thread!

I always enjoy reading stories of posters game day experience. Bighead’s post about his experience in Bragg was entertaining. That was a bitter sweet year for us Tiger fans. 99 was the last year an HBCU had the best team in FCS football. Everyone knew going into the season we had one of the best teams in the country. I knew we were going to lose our 1st round playoff game because we were going to have to play with our 3rd string QB. That year FAMU was real good making it to the semi finals losing to YSU on the last play. But we were wayyyyyy better. We beat them 42-25 in Atlanta and the game wasn’t close.

There is only one true heated rivalry for us and that’s the Snakes. To be a good rivalry both team have to be good. Play close games. And a little cheating or controversy has to be involved. Big John Merritt was a known cheater. It was only right they we cheated FAMU out of a victory the last time they played us in the John Merritt Classic. 2 Goal line stands from the 1 to end the game. Big John was smiling on the Refs from heaven.

Jacked from krfamn1 on meanfanzone.

I personally miss playing Alabama A&M. The game in 98 during my 1st senior year was the first time we had played a HBCU on campus since I had been there. The campus was on fire. I remember having to go on campus on a Friday to get something and was hard pressed to find somewhere to park. Cars with AAMU flags were everywhere parked in the grass in front of Boyd and Epps.

That tsutiger dude never tells the truth about how A&M owns them in the JMC, but he will tell you Tnsu beat us up in the 70's.....

Come on man. You don't have to lie to post. You can call me a lot of things, but I always keep it real when it comes to HBCU football.

Since you want to be current the last time the two teams meet TSU won 27-14 giving Coach Reed his first victory as a head coach.

Going into this season you know damn well AAMU don't want no parts of what we putting on the field this season. Lucky for you, you get to tease your big brothers Alabama State and Jackson State about the a$$ kicking they are going to take this year.

Best Head coach in HBCU football. check!
Best coaching staff in HBCU football. check!
Best QB in HBCU football. check!

Best Defense in HBCU football. check! check! check!

Man this was a good thread...Lol...smh

SWAC football back in the day was on another level...it's coming back slowly but back in the day, from tailgating, the week leading up to the games..the aftermath of the game, it was on another level...

I don't know man... your defense has always been over-rated and suspect. With JSU opening the offense back up, I have a good feeling about this year. We should have a better defense and offense this year.
