The whole "legs" tired thing is some bs to me.... kids playing college ball have been playing basketball since they were in grade school. They ball EVERYDAY (without subs lol) 3 or 4 games straight. Their bodies SHOULD be conditioned.

How about this. The conference is down. JSU was no better than ASU, and probably would have lost tonight as well. Changing around the conference tourney schedule, or dividing the league to a East-West format of the 800-pound monkey in the room. Lack of talent.

HBCUs as a whole are just not good enough to win consistently against OCC foes. Until that happens, HBCUs will continue to get blown out in the first round of the NCAAs, in the play-in game and the regular season.

So Jayrob and other JSU fans arguing about the Tigers would have won need to go somewhere and be quiet. It does not matter. The SWAC is 0-5 in the play-in game.

A-hole, I have a right to my OWN dayum opinion, so you go somewhere and shut up. Did I once call out your dayum name?

Dude, yall were lucky to win in B'ham simply because we missed so many free throws we normally make. Plus over the last ten meetings, we are 7-3 against you. Plus you lost four starters. Plus you're losing your BEST player, best shot blocker and two best shooters.

The likelihood of Bama State winning next year is around 15-20 percent, and I'm being generous at that.

Dude, nobody cares why you lost. You got your arses whooped last Saturday and you've seem to have forgotten that.

Only 5% of the posters on the SWACPAGE really give a damn about what you post and I'm being generous with that.

As for next year we have TWO players (Jones and WHite) who are starters that are returning. Fitch should be inserted into the starting lineup at the center position and Butler will take over for Hayles. Our major concerns are recruiting depth at the 4 and 5 positions and replacing Brooks.

 Thank you, Lew Jack already working winning his OCG, so no matter what the conference does we will avoid the playing in the play in game.....had we been able to get it done against Auburn and MS State we would have been resting waiting for Thurs. or Fri., those are things we got to handle.......

Sting... Im not saying Bama State will be down but I just dont see two players replacing Hayles and Brooks role NEXT year. Fitch is more a a 4 than a 5.

No excuses here. We missed too many easy shots and had our chances to beat them but didn't. We'll just have to get ready for next season and hope LewJack gets more players who can contribute right away.

Dude, I don't keep count of who gives a dayum about what I post. I give a dayum is what counts.
The bottom line is your team played like garbage.
If that was JSU's team getting embarassed like that, yall would be all over this page with all kinds of smilies and what not and you know it. Take your medicine and swallow it.
I'm being generous to you in your loss, so don't push it.

I agree and respect you opinion. I doubt we will be able to find a pg like Brooks. He was the leader of this team. Hayles can be replaced though. He was a good player also but if his jumper isn't on one night, you won't even know he's on the floor. Yeah Fitch is more of a 4 but in SWAC play he might as well be a 5. Hopefully, Sutton will be ready to play next year.

I guarantee our guards would've dominated Morehead State's backcourt as well as our inside game, and I KNOW we would've scored more than 45 points. Plus our players wouldn't have had deer in the headlight syndrome the entire game.
This is a total embarassment of epic proportion. It rivals that of Valley's last year.
Two schools know how to play on the big stage or at least put up a fight, and that's JSU and SU (under Ben Jobe).

While I agree that Bama State was the best team in the conference, I refuse to believe that JSU wouldn't have beaten this team. Bama State played like some busters. Played nowhere near as well as they could have. Now, had this team beaten a Bama State that played well, I could buy the "they woulda beat everybody else" argument.

Truth be told, neither of you knows if JSU would've played any better. Did either of you expect Bama State to play this bad in this game?

Example, and this isn't smack, it's real talk. Look at last year's NBA finals. Boston beat the Lakers 4-2 in games and in that last game, they blew the Lakers out by 39 points. The Hawks that barely made the playoffs in the East took those same Celtics to 7 games and almost won the series. Cleveland did the same thing with Boston. Nobody expected those Lakers to get blown out by 39 points against any team, including the Celtics.

Seriously, I could care less about what you have to say because 9 times out 10 the things you post is BS.

Alabama State looked pathetic and the entire SWAC was horrible all year. :vomit: Just like football. :shame: But Morehead also outcoached Alabama State tonight. They changed their defense up and kept ASU off-balanced all night while Jackson kept playing man-to-man. People here keep saying ASU was tired. Well, rule number one: don't play man-to-man with a tired team. Sit in a zone. Morehead didn't show me they could shooting the
3. Morehead really didn't show me anything but hustle and a good game plan. And Chief. :( No aggression. No balance. There is nothing good to say about tonight other than it is over.

Jayrob,

Didn't you say it's better to to have loved and lost than not to be loved at all? Does that same statement apply to Alabama State beating JSU to play in this game? :emlaugh: Several teams can sit and say the same thing about how their football team would've played better against Grambling in the SCG than JSU did. SU, PV, etc. Point is, sometimes the bigger the stage, the worse showing a team puts on, hence the SCG in football, and Alabama State's play-in game tonight, and game 6 of last year's NBA finals. :emlaugh:

Who is behind Brooks and Hayles. They rarely saw the floor. No confidence in them whatsoever. So the're suppose to just step in and not miss a beat.

No doubt we need money but until we hit the lotto we need to become more resourceful. It's possible as Morgan State has shown. They've been able to improve by signing D-I transfers, getting players ranked in the top 500 and keeping their nucleus for all 3 or 4 years. More of us should be able to do this.

Im sorry but no one has noticed Morgan State...and if what you say is true, it seems to me that they signed well 3-4 years ago and are riding a few players. Let's see what you have to say in a year or two.

no he didn't say top 500.... :scared:

Hayles is backed up by Freshman #21 Butler. Brooks was backed up by several point guards. We'll definitely recruit a pg or two for next year.

Morgan has a REAL D1 coach... Bozeman was cheating at Cal.... was fired then went to the only school that would hire him.... It was a good deal for Morgan.

Matchups...Plain and simple. The Haws and Cavs are familar with the Celtics and play them 4 times during the season. The hawks had the Celtics on the ropes cause they have the players to match up. The Lakers didn't have the same matchups. The Celtics are in trouble this season. They are missing key guys like poseympj brown and sam I am. They don't have the solid second unit anymore. They got hot at home and the Lakers got out played in that last game.

also Hayles, Brooks and Chief was around 70% of all of Bama State scoring if not more.

Actually Jones (when eligible to play) and Fitch contributed more that Chief but we will have to find some players to step up with Brooks and Hayles leaving.

Man, you are the Andy Dick of this board, dude. And way out of line.

Kendrick you are out of line in your comments. JSU played a tougher oCC schedule and pretty much have better over all gaurd play than ASU. Also have a better inside game. I won't go as far as to say what we would have done but JayRob and the other jSU poster have a right to post. ASU got hot in the SWAC championship game and fed off of a local homer crowd. They were a Hayles cold night away from losing. Dude just jacks up shots.

JayRob is no different than some of the Sucks poster who say homer type statements but get little ridicule. You a JSU alum go out of you way to down your won school. I mean If it's not baseball then you have issues with the sport.

I can name several other poster worse than Jay Rob.....Several...
