Watching on MLB TV and SU doesn't have the discipline I (and the commentators) would like to see. Particularly at the plate.

SU adds a round tripper in the 7th but still trails 6-4 going into the 8th.

Bama State leads SU 6-4 bottom 8th. Game is on MLB network. PV and Texas Southern is next game.

That's not interference if the guy is in the dugout. He's not obligated to move while he's in the dugout just to make it easier to catch the ball.

Didn't matter since Bama State didn't score any runs off the play.

The ball was not in the dugout. The guy leaned over the rail. Even though he didn't score, the main issue is our umps constantly make/miss calls.
It was interference. I saw the same thing on Wednesday. The umps called the batter out.

He hit the SU player over the rail which is in fair territory. The hone plate umpire should have came over to see the play but he just hung around home plate.

Bama State defeats SU 6-4 and with very few Black players. The plight of the typical HBCU Black baseball player seems to be going by the wayside, except at JSU and a couple other SWAC schools.

I don't think the ump's(and ref's in football/basketball) cheat, I just believe they are either too relaxed, lazy, or undisciplined at times. The strike zone varied from inning to inning.

Yeah, I wish more of our kids were interested in baseball. But like 1 of the commentators said, baseball is one of the hardest sports to pick up at age 15-16. I do like how JSU keeps having a true "HBCU" baseball team. :tup:

it counts when the championship is on the line. For SU the first 10-15 games are experimental. Probably havent played the same lineup all season. When will JSU win a baseball championship.

but with a ton of Porto rican players. the coach is porto rican. i think it fulfills the same mission the schools were founded with. it does get at the conundrum that faces our schools. To be the best academically, and athletically it can't be just black players or black students. The tent has to expand to other minority groups and majority students as well. I'm sure they recruit black players that they feel are as good they need to be competitive. I hope all our schools are getting the best players they can though regardless of ethnicity.

Dude, SU hasn't won in the last three years, yet you keep making the same excuses when SU loses. Keep on making 'em though and trying to divert.

HBCU's weren't founded in order for others to COMPLETELY take over. That's all I'm saying.
