Im sure we can all agree that all 1-0 games are not created equal. I wonder which end of the spectrum this one fell.

True, and I know it's early but I hate that we've already lost 3 games. While I hope things turn around, not getting a "warm and fuzzy" about this season. :scared:

They are going to be fine. Lack of practice time due to construction has hurt our defense, but as the season goes on we are going to be fine. We basically returned our pitching staff minus Doc Foster, and the majority of our team. I would rather play good late than early. SU has pitching, lots of it, so we are good.

True....I remember S.U. beating #2 Cal State Fullerton 1-0 in the NCAA regional tourney. That's a 1-0 I won't forget.

SU played error free baseball and only gave up four hits. TSU 9th hole hitter hit a solo shot in the 3rd. Well played game. SU bats are going to come around. As long as SU pitches and plays good defense, they will be there in the end like always.

HOUSTON - One swing of the bat made all the difference for Texas Southern in the opening game of the sixth Annual MLB Urban Youth Invitational at Minute Maid Park.
Tyler Flanagan's solo homerun was the only score in the Tigers' 1-0 win over Southern as TSU's Felix Gomez and Southern's Jesse Holiday engaged in a pitchers' duel in front of a crowd of 200 Friday afternoon.
Holiday and Gomez combined for 15 innings of work, striking out 12 total batters and scattering eight hits. The biggest of those eight hits in the game came in the bottom of the third inning.
Flanagan, batting ninth for TSU (5-2), took Holiday deep to right to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Holiday, a senior from Sugar Land, Texas, only gave up one hit and struck out four Texas Southern batters before giving up the homer.
Holiday (1-1) pitched seven complete innings with four hits, one earned run and nine strikeouts in the loss.
"Holiday always seems to give us a tough time," Tigers head coach Michael Robertson said. "One thing you know about Southern starters, they go deep in the ball game and they throw strikes.

After reading the article I see TSU also had 4 hits, with two being infield singles. Doc pitched a gem , but lost. That's the beauty of baseball, and what makes it such a great game.

It does look nice! I'm watching the game on the MLB network.
The strike zone is a joke and the double play against SU the umpire blew the out at 2nd. Commentators mention that SU has scored 14 runs in 5 games.

Yeah, this ump behind the plate does have a generous strike zone. That DP was not even close and I don't know how he missed that call.
