TP I'm assuming he means it both ways. Get your weight up but most notably get your wait(basically you have to wait until next season for a rematch)up...

Congrats to the Jukes for the invite. I'm sure y'all will show up and show out.. Do ya thang!

One question. Did the whole band go or just a snippet??

As I look at the posts BEFORE yours, NOBODY even mentioned jSU.

Exactly....Who said anything about jSU??? People were making general comments that could have pertained to any university. But as it is said, hit dogs will holla. LOL!!!

ROBIN MILLER

The Southern University “Human Jukebox” Marching Band won’t be throwing punches, but it plays a role in events leading to Saturday’s highly touted mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

The band, led by Nathan B. Haymer, director of bands at Southern, performs at Mayweather’s arrival ceremony to fight week festivities today at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

“We’re going to parade him to the stage to ‘Nobody Does It Better,’” Haymer said. “It will be like a pep rally for Mayweather. We’ll get to meet him, but I don’t know if he’ll have time to talk. It will all depend on how everything goes today.”

In addition to the Human Jukebox, the Mayweather arrival ceremony will feature comedian Ricky Smiley and will be hosted by Doug E. Fresh.

Haymer assembled a condensed version of the Human Jukebox for the occasion, choosing 50 of his best musicians, along with four Dancing Dolls. They left Baton Rouge for Las Vegas at 6:45 a.m. Monday, barely missing the day’s destructive thunderstorms, and will fly home tonight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. made his grand entrance on Tuesday into Las Vegas for the upcoming mega fight on Saturday night against Manny Pacquiao and he did so with a little bit of Louisiana flavor.

The Southern University Marching Band – the "Human Jukebox" – played during Mayweather's grand arrival that also included emcee Doug E. Fresh and comedian Ricky Smiley.

Southern's band announced the trip on it's Facebook page Saturday and were all over social media during Tuesday's performance.

Here's a look at what Southern had to offer:

My baby was telling me about this; good stuff for SU & the HJ!:)

SU has done really well over the past few decades at getting their name out there on the national level. National recognition brings in students which brings in justification for new facilities/upgrades/renovations. Win-win stiuation all around!
