Maybe We Need More White OL Coaches

No smack on bruthus, but maybe some teams in the SWAC need to hire more "whiteboys" to coach our offensive linemen the proper techniques, footwork and schemes for blocking, and also to recruit big husky whiteboys to protect the qb. They seem to be much better at that.

Look at what happens when SWAC teams play quality non-conference schools like mcneese state, south dakota, northern iowa, etc.
Their offensive line almost always outplays ours. Also look at who the offensive line coaches mostly are in the NFL. They're whiteboys. They seem to excel at that.

We have 15 OLinemen and all of the starters from last season and we did not improve. Call out a number and block. Sheesh. I want say hire white coaches because look at SU it didn't work the last two season. There were post for us to Hire back C Roberts but gram could not run block either last season. It starts with the OC and his schemes. The O-Line coach and the OC should be on the same page. Braddy is a Tiger through and through he will have to get with Comegy and right this ship or part ways. Loyallty is out the door at this point. Comegy is ruining his rep with this chicken shyit.

You guys are missing it. I have said this before. Offensive line is the hardest position to fill on a football team and our schools are limited by NOT being able to successfully recruit players of all races. So we usually end up with guys who are overweight, too short, too slow, because we have to battle the OTHER schools for good black offensive linemen while completely missing out on good white offensive linemen. So we are getting the leftovers.

As for Jackson State, our line has trouble picking up the free man because we don't move well. That's why we can't run block. So we need to adjust. No pulling guards. Pound it up the middle and use that weight. Quick slants so that the blitz won't beat up the QB. Use the freakin' tight-end over the middle against the blitz. Screens. Quick drops.

So this is about our inability to recruit good offensive linemen and our inability to deal with our weakness up front.

Hmm, SO you guys decide to post this after the Delta St. game? Blame your head coach for not hiring a good enough OL coach. Maybe you're school is having a hard time find good O-linemen but not ALL of us are.

You're sayin that teams like delta state, nichols state, stephen f austin, mcneese state, etc are better OL recruiters than SWAC schools?

Color doesn't matter....it's how you coach and what you know....when SU was rolling in the 90s their O-lines, coached by a brotha, had no problem against the Southland teams.

If you saw GSU last night, they played to the scheme and the line shocked me..

Name ONE, just ONE SWAC school whose not having problems with their OL over the past 3-4 years when they play out of conference schools.

When I saw Gram's offensive line, my first thought was " Where are the fat dudes?" They looked good and played even better... still need a bit of work with the guards, but the two tackles looked AWESOME!

I've said this all along. The delta state game just solidified it even more.

Look at most successful schools who consistently send OL players to the NFL like nebraska, ohio state, michigan, oklahoma state, wisconsin and what color are their offensive linemen and what color are most of their offensive line coaches.
That's just the nature of the beast. It happens time and time again when we go up against quality non-conference opponents.
The best DL coaches are Black, the best defensive players are Black and so are the skill position players. Look at the numbers, they don't lie.

This is what happened when JSU played under WC in the playoffs. We had better talent at the skill positions, but our offensive line would always be outplayed by the other team's offensive line AND defensive line. Their blocking techniques and footwork were fundamentally sound, that's why we couldn't beat anybody in the playoffs.

Seems to me that we STILL haven't figured that out.

Why don't you enlighten Comegy with your lil theory and let everybody here know what he has to say about that.

This is sad. :smh:

NO!.........This is beyond SAD, with all of those 21 D-1 transfers that were suppose to take them to the promised land along with their ALL WORLD D-2 Coach...................this is p-i-t-y-f-u-l. They didn't even make it a decent showing for THE SWAC.:shame::shame::shame::lmao::lmao::lmao:

AAMU? HUH!! And what QUALITY predominantly white schools have they played and defeated LATELY? jacksonville state? No. samford? No. north alabama? hell no, so where's your evidence?

We only lost by 12 points. It's not like we lost 45-0 and it's not like our record is 9-33 against d-2 schools (hint, hint).

Maybe we need a white play-by-play announcer and color commentator. Rob Jay and Willie Richardson provide no insight or analysis to the games. They don't know the players on the field or anything. A fire drill breaks out in the booth when something happens on the field.

Ha, dude that's not the question you asked. Go look back at your post and find the words "predominantly white" in there. But even the last couple of times we played "predominantly white" schools we never had problems with our o-line. Does that answer your question?

Why are you so sour today? It's Sunday. :snicker:

Here's to kendrick for taking words completely out of context and putting his own spin on them, as usual. Reading and comprehension instructor, send help.

kendrick, with your sidin with everything white, I thought you'd be the LAST person to complain about anything favorin' whiteboys.
Seems like you're more confused now than ever.
