To me, both parties need to be 100% committed to the marriage or it won't be successful anyway. Who asks shouldn't matter.

I think if both parties truly felt like that, it would be less divorce

I think men make it harder than it has to be. Many men ride the fence, not really giving much of any emotion and men are startled when she doesnt drop everything she feels at his feet? And let us not forget the fear that the next chick coming along might be "badder" than this one--you know, more bang for your bucks. But the thing many don't realize is SHE can see what you're thinking...and pulls back. CAuse who give their all when someone is just playing with them, right?

I think when a male makes himself available to be asked, 10 times out of 10, he'll eventually be asked. If you need an ultimatum for committment, he isn't the one for you. If you want a wife, be DECISIVE AND DELIBERATE in your actions and get one. Again, if you don't want/ are unsure/riding the fence, you are not ready and will waste quite a bit of her time...and most likely you'll both end up unfulfilled as hell.
