Looking Back At Old School Juke Members

Don't do us like that, I know I used to be like "You'll hard of understanding or something" I guess we were used to everyone understanding everything we used to say...
LOL!

Seriously, it's all love. I miss New Orleans (and Louisiana in general) something fierce. I swear that place has a vibe and rhythm like nowhere else in the world -- the people, the food, the music -- I had a ball during my time down there.

I often tell people that If I knew back then what I know now, I would have found me one of them big-legged, good-cooking gals from someplace like Opelousas, New Iberia, or Lake Charles and married her! :cuddle:

Believe that.

I love that N.O. dialect. And, I love N.O. folks even more for thinking it's normal. Can't get that nowhere else.

CB from N.O.- ""Sup, Blade...wanna cold drink or sum'n?"

Blade- "Oh...didn't know they had a machine with fruit punch and juices n'isht. What kind they got"

CB- "Nah, bruh...a cold drink."

Blade- "I know, *****....give me some fruit punch or sum'n."

CB- "Nah. Cold drink. Coke, Sprite, ya know?..."

Blade- "Oh...my bad... "[/i]

Damn, how did I miss this all day? Yall trippin', yeah!
During my crab year, as a joke, I made a New Orleans to Engish dictionary and passed it out to my CBs. It was like 4 or 5 pages of hilarious sayings and pronunciations.
It still effects me today. I still make grocery, and drink cold dranks! When I hear someone in houston talk about their "old lady" and are talking about their mother and not their significant other I feel so detatched.

Yall old(er) Jukes are crazy. My time in the Juke was priceless so when yall reflect, I do too and want to relive those days again!
