Freak-Nik 1994

:what: :what:

Man tis brings back memories. 1994 was the last great one. 95 they started to change the rules, and it went downhill from there.

Same thing happened to BCR in Daytona after about 1996....once they become more than just college events, they all go downhill fast.

I've heard that the "Kappa" beach party in Galvaston, TX was equally as fun as the Freaknik. I had my fun 14 years ago in Atlanta, so you young people can continue to carry the torch.

Freaknic 96:confused::confused::confused:

The last real Freaknic was 94 we can kinda give props to 95. Anything after that was all downhill.

Man, I almost got aressted twice when I was there. Every stripper from Houston came there I think. We kicked to sleep some Bloods that tried to call the bruhs out for wearing their colors. Man, we stomped the sh!t out of them punks, and then went and pounded mass stripper ass!
:D

There will NEVA EVA be anything remotely close to Freaknic again. Freaknic just didnt take over a city... hell it took over an entire state. Driving from Huntsville to Atlanta, it was a "freaknic" all the way. That had to be the most fun I have ever had. I went to Daytona 2 years, it was boring as hell compared to Freaknic. Black College Reunion really only took over the strip (which isnt even really long)... Freaknic was on a totally different level. The only time in my life I can remember not being MAD because I was stuck in a traffic jam. The traffic jams and hotels were the funnest part of Freaknic. Police didnt know what to do, they just gave up. They stopped caring if you were walking down the street drinking 40s or smoking blunts. It saw tags from damn near every state in America. I saw all of the pimps that I had always read about. ATL had ran out of hotels, that still didnt stop people from coming. You would see a lobby full of people just sleepin on the couches and floor.

First attended Freaknic in 1993.....I thought that was the greatest until I went back in 1994:eek::eek::eek:

1994 was the best year period. I think that was the year the Atlanta police were on some kind of strike.

Freaknic is the reason I can never run for public office :uhoh:...damn cameras and camcorders:mad:

don't know about the entire state, but it shole took over all of the Atl area.

I don't really remember the years like some of yall do, but the one that really stands out to me was the year right before it really blew up. It caught Atlanta completely off guard. None of the streets were blocked. Not even Peachtree. Not even down by Underground. No extra police on duty. NONSTOP the whole wknd. That was one for the ages. :D
Word spread bout that year, and the next year, thats when it was 200,000+ folks, but the city had traffic plans and xtra police in place by then (although that didn't stop the party :lol:

I remember being in a traffic jam on some street around 3:00am. I was very much drunk and riding on the passenger side. I fell asleep and woke up and we were about 2 blocks ahead at 6:00am. I have a VHS of that year. When I get time, I will upload clips to youtube.

Look at Vette lookin like Halle Berry in "Boomerang"!!!!

:ebrow:

~walks out~

That was the look I was going for. I've had dayum near every hairstyle that Halle has rocked, including the spikes from "Swordfish." Once it got popular, I changed it.

Anyway, back to Freak-Nic; I will be here all day swappin stories from settin my own cousin out (20.00 for a private dance) at the Castlegate Hotel in 1996, to all of KKPsi/TBS getting in parade formation and marching down Peachtree Street in 1997.  But the best one IMO was definitely 1994- we were at Piedmont Park and I'm standing there talkin to these dudes when all of the sudden, I hear a rumble- I turned to look and I be dayumed if bout 1000+ folks were running towards our direction; I didn't ask no questions- we just followed suit and started running. To this very day, I STILL don't know what everyone was running from; I've heard everything from firecrackers to gunshots to loose dogs. :emlaugh: :smh:

Got me thinking about the Cedric the Entertainer joke from the Kings of Comedy Tour: When you run, we run--- don't even have to know what we're running about!

Man Man Man those were the good ole days!!!!! GUD went every year that he was in Grambling except my freshaman year.... I think my main reason for liking it so much was because my homeboy mom lived in ATL so all we had to do was just get there...

Hell she had food for us and even packed up a cooler for us each year because you know we didn't come home until the early morning hours...... I will never forget in 96 my homeboy introduced me to HYDRO and he was like boy you cannot smoke that whole thing are you going to be out..... Man was he RIGHT I smoked that little white paper thing and was in the back of the truck laid out for the night..... Hell when I woke up there were people all over the car.... All GUD could do was look up and lay back down..... THAT SHI* HAD ME GONE!!!! LOL LOL LOL

THE GOOD OLE DAYS!!!!! Man i'm just sitting here thinking about how we would fight to get out of that traffic and there was not much you could do but get out and WALK........

I have that ON VIDEO!:lmao:

My KKPsi LB got stampeded. I was really worried about him under all those people, but when he got up, he had about 7 credit cards in his hand. We went to the mall and got some new HilFigers and to the liquor store (I know, it was wrong). We were right in front of the stage when that happened and our dumb butts didn't run until the stamped got near us.
