I went to the first Freaknik. Damn, I'm gettin old.

I've heard that the "Kappa" beach party in Galvaston, TX was equally as fun as the Freaknik. I had my fun 14 years ago in Atlanta, so you young people can continue to carry the torch.

Man, I almost got aressted twice when I was there. Every stripper from Houston came there I think. We kicked to sleep some Bloods that tried to call the bruhs out for wearing their colors. Man, we stomped the sh!t out of them punks, and then went and pounded mass stripper ass!

Freaknic just didnt take over a city... hell it took over an entire state.
don't know about the entire state, but it shole took over all of the Atl area.
I don't really remember the years like some of yall do, but the one that really stands out to me was the year right before it really blew up. It caught Atlanta completely off guard. None of the streets were blocked. Not even Peachtree. Not even down by Underground. No extra police on duty. NONSTOP the whole wknd. That was one for the ages.
Word spread bout that year, and the next year, thats when it was 200,000+ folks, but the city had traffic plans and xtra police in place by then (although that didn't stop the party :lol:
Look at Vette lookin like Halle Berry in "Boomerang"!!!!

Anyway, back to Freak-Nic; I will be here all day swappin stories from settin my own cousin out (20.00 for a private dance) at the Castlegate Hotel in 1996, to all of KKPsi/TBS getting in parade formation and marching down Peachtree Street in 1997.  But the best one IMO was definitely 1994- we were at Piedmont Park and I'm standing there talkin to these dudes when all of the sudden, I hear a rumble- I turned to look and I be dayumed if bout 1000+ folks were running towards our direction; I didn't ask no questions- we just followed suit and started running. To this very day, I STILL don't know what everyone was running from; I've heard everything from firecrackers to gunshots to loose dogs. :emlaugh: :smh:

That was the look I was going for. I've had dayum near every hairstyle that Halle has rocked, including the spikes from "Swordfish." Once it got popular, I changed it.
