Jordan's son won't wear Adidas at UCF...school facing $3M dilemma

SU Jags!!!
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A fight over the shoes Michael Jordan's son will wear at the University of Central Florida could cost the school as much as $3 million.

Freshman guard Marcus Jordan is refusing to wear shoes made by adidas, the brand the university has a contract with for all its sports. He says he will only wear his father's Nike Air Jordan shoes because it holds special meaning to his family.

Jordan or Adidas?

If it's that meaningful to his family and it's a one year fine of 3M.. I say let MJ pay the fine each year his son plays there and be done with it..

Mike needs to instruct Marcus to follow rules that were set in place before he got there.......

So what he won't wear Adidas.
No player on that team is getting a dime from that contract Adidas has with the coach.
If Jordans son want to wear Nike, then let him buy them out of his pocket.

wear Adidas or transfer nukka, simple as that. you ain't bigger than the school.

Since ya'll agree that the players should be forced to be walking billboards for Adidas, do you AGREE they should have a peice of that contract money going into their pockets?
Just asking?

They agreed to play for UCF.
They didn't agree to be forced to advertise Adidas gear for free.

I didn't say I agreed to them being walking billboards. BUT if that's the school's rule and you know this beforehand, either fall in line or go elsewhere.

Ok, how about Adidas make the uniforms for Mississippi State. Let's say Jordan's son was to go to State. What is he gone do, tell State, "Hey, I hope ya'll got a Nike uniform, because I ain't wearing that Adidas one"? Nukka please, like I said before, either wear what they provide or kick rocks. The athletes are getting all that gear for free anyway.

According to the article, UCF uses Adidas apparel and equipment.

He's wearing the adidas uniform... he just doesn't want to wear the shoes.

You're (UCF) slow if you didn't see this coming. The Jordan name is mega in this category. And, NOW it's a problem?

Come'on, Son.

how foolish is that............ oh well..........

not foolish at all.
Nobody is going to know who makes the uniform but a person can tell what brand the shoe's are from the other end of the court.

Big difference.
A prime example would be to ask random SWAC fans who make our uniforms.
How many would say or even think of SPALDING.

whatever you say bruh.

I'm gone wear a Valley windsuit, and slap a JSU cap on, nobody will notice my windsuit though.

1st off UCF should have prepared for this as soon as they started recruiting him. Be Real Lil Jordan probaly never had another brand of Shoe on his feet when he shot a hoop. ANd he aint wearing the Jordans you buy out the store. Did we forget about all the Flags the Dream TEAM rocked as they recieved the Golds?
2nd Come to Grambling, I Know Nike and the SWAC will be complaining about him not wearing the Cheapest Shoes that Nike has for basketball but hey the SWAC deal with Nike aint nothing but 20% of 3 million if that.
3rd Get REAL UCF is loving this Problem... And waiting to see if they can become apart of Team Jordan.. Jordan still is a hell of a recruiting tool
