We are but why use the JStank crap im just being honest if you had the money to pay him you would have locked him in better..That extension he got is child's play compared to what he can get at other schools...

Dont be mad that your coach/Massa is looking to get out of there and has entertained 3 schools in a 2 months span you will be ok..
 
Hopson will probably make a decision after national signing day. Anything sooner might damage Alcorns recruiting.
Because of his success, there will always be opportunities to return to FCS.
I hope he stays, best wishes to him.

Mullen is going to shoot this down because it could affect Alcorn's signing day.

Doesn't mean he didn't offer him the job though.
 
Money was not the issue with him. He was offered a raise when he got his extension but turned it down. Instead he wanted his assistant to get a raise. He wants to keep the assistant salaries competitive and continue improving facilities and equipment.
 
Some seem to forget that Coach Hopson has already been a D-Coordinator and a position coach on the FBS level so why leave Alcorn to do the samething again, it makes no sense. An as far as USM is concerned we (Non Alcorn supporters and Alumni) and others in the media are speculating that they want to hire Coach Hopson were has it been reported that he was contacted or that he even applied for the job? Until such a report comes out I'm 1000% sure that he will be roaming the sidelines on the Reservation for the foreseeable future. GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The question is whether or not the salary changes are different and whether or not he would be provided more input on the program than what he had before.
 
Tony Hughes could have had his dream job but instead took a paycut.

It will be interesting to see how this affects BOTH JSU and Alcorn. I would not be surprised if JSU played USM in a future Money Game.
 
I hope this also a lesson to Alcorn, JSU, and Valley:

Do Not EVER think the SEC Schools of Mississippi and USM are not trying to undermine our HBCUs in Any way, shape, or form. They Are always plotting. MS State just came and swooped up in the conversation out of no where. White Folks overall still do not want an HBCU over them.
 
Tony Hughes has the job he wanted. Hughes is not on USM radar for a head coaching vacancy. They will promote within or hire a proven coordinator or proven head coach.
