According to Football Scoop Dan Mullen has offered Jay Hopson a job. Tough call, coach in the SEC or keep building your own potential dynasty.........

I hope he stays BUT I did see on a MS State forum a few weeks ago when JSU hired Hughes when they said they should double Hopson's salary and offer him a job at State.... lol

I'd stay and keep building my own dynasty. He's got a good thing going at Alcorn. I hope he doesn't leave.

Depending on the money, I wouldn't leave for an assistant job. I could see USM but not an assistant at msu. There highest paid asst was there DC at $600,000 so I'm sure Hopson will be around $250,000 to $350,000. But hey each is own. I think if alcorn could atleast get him to about $200,000 he would be OK as far as taking asst jobs. I Dnt think he'll take the msu job. He's already been on that level. I think Jay is in that head coach mindset now. I wouldn't rush to msu when Mullen was trying to leave himself. If I was jay I would look more so for stability. Like I said Mullen tryna leave himself.

This could springboard him into the MSU HC job if/when Mullen gets hired elsewhere.

He gone

This is a public favor to Hopson in an effort to put the pressure on USM to hire him outright. Now that this news has come out, I fully expect Hopson to be in serious consideration for the USM HC job.

I believe you're right...

Mississippi State: Dan Mullen has offered Alcorn State head coach Jay Hopson the remaining open defensive assistant position.

Think you are right with this. Don't think he would leave Alcorn for an assistant job even with more pay. He's either staying at Alcorn or leaving for USM

He should stay
I agree.
Alcorn really just need to take care of business themselves and gone pay the man. Hey I mean this 2016, it cost to win. There are no loyalty coaches like back in the day. It's a dog fight out here now. Alcorn you got to pay to play now a days.

They are after their old coach Chip Lindsey real hard. So I doubt that is the case.

Hopson about to set out this hop like my Bruhs, he's about to Peel it Off and he's gone, alright, alright
He better get while the getting is good, the competition in the swac is going to get a lot tougher over the next couple of years. Alcorn may not be able to continue it's run.

He should take the $ if it doesn't work out he can get his job back or a better H.C. job somewhere else in the swac.

Maybe, but how much can they afford? Is Alcorn selling out the reservation and bringing in that kind of money?
