The reason the birth rate dropped is that folks don't have big families now because women have jobs now. Why didn't you post the ERA women fought for? Folks had big families because most blacks in the south farmed their own lands. Kids were free help.The reason the drop out rate improved is because parents go to jail now if their kids drop out of school before 16 0r 17. The reason the drug war is not as bad as because the war on drug laws. Man are you folks college educated for real? :retard:

Explain why those teen pregnancies have dropped, especially considering the unemployment rate for black teenagers was 28.2 percent as of July, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

When a black person does something wrong it is a referendum on the overall decline of African-Americans. When black people are doing well, it either gets ignored or is considered an exception to the rule even when evidence is presented. Funny how that works.

Kendrick my slow friend, do you know condoms and birth control pills were not even around or easily made available as they are now? You are so intelligent you over looked that fact didn't you? You as a teenager can get on the pill or have things put in your body to stop pregnancy when you couldn't do that in 1990 hell. Buying rubbers was like trying to get alcohol in 1985. But folks in this thread will have you believe that young people today are popping out kids like it's no tomorrow. That's why I asked about the teen birth rate.

You are essentially proving the point that things for the black community have improved. Less murders, less teen pregnancies, etc...

I know things aren't as crazy as the 90's. I still remember my trip to the calliope projects in NOLA in early 90's with my uncle... :smh: I was like 9-10 years old. I wasn't ready for that experience.

Don't get me wrong I know we are better off, but today's youth is lost. No one can deny that. Ninety percent of these kids don't even know what the civil rights movement was about.

because back then the 14 kids were not a plague on society, now Bonequisha's 5 kids don't go to school, they don't work, they don't vote all they do is buy cigarillos, commit crime and breed
 
It'll all come down to parents being parents (not just in name only) and having the right village and resources around./
 
Tony, I wasn't alive back then so I will cede that point. I heard some crazy stories about the 70's and 80's up here on the east coast. I think overall, we are better off but there are just certain segments that we haven't been able to lift.
