Don't get me wrong..........it is Kobe's team now.....and he has better help. Although I always thought he could have done a better job helping them young guys out. He seemed to do that THIS year. So yeah it is Kobe and the boys now. What I am arguing with Get Ready is his blatant hate on Shaq when his Lakers were winning. Not admitting that it was Diesel as the first option.......then Kobe. It was Shaq's team. Now sure it is Kobe's team these days. It has been his team every since Shaq left. No argument there. That is why he took so much grief. Even with Shaq in Miami.....he said right away that this D-Wade's team and I here to help. Shaq knew his skills were not the same anymore. He was the second guy now. He would have been had he stayed in LA. The Lakers front office didn't want to pay him so they went with the younger star which is what most sports franchises do. The way they did it was not cool.......lied to both Shaq and Kobe. Played on the fact they did not get along so they would not look like the bad guys for shipping a popular Shaq away. You Laker fans who live outside of LA have to understand just how popular Shaq was there. Kobe still has haters that are Laker fans there. Hell my girl is one of them. Die Hard Laker fan. Can't stand Kobe.
I don't deny that it was Shaq's team but he never embraced Kobe like he did Penny and Dwade. After it was all over do you see penny or Dwade hanging with Shaq. I'm with GR shaq could have made it all go away and acknowledge that Kobe was a great player. He could have been the bigger man but he never was. He kept that ish going in the locker room and in the media. Yeah the Laker Organization played on it but Shaq is just as much to blame. I was mad at them both. but I knew we could not win with them and a cast of buster either.
Even Mike had to retool that team to win three more.
Shaw, it is all about these cats inflated egos. MJ had one...but the Bulls were smart enough to build around that. No big trades to bring in more big egos. Pippen was a draft choice/draft day trade......so he came there already knowing that MJ was the man.........same for Horace Grant....drafted by the Bulls. Once MJ came back.......Grant was already gone(he never liked MJ from what I understand) and then they brought in Rodman who is not a bad team mate if you aint no punk. He just likes to play with folks that play hard. His ego is not on the court. So they all fit. The Lakers had to know that Shaq and Kobe were a time bomb waiting to go off. Same happened in Orlando. Penny started getting all the Lil Penny commercials and his head swole up. Shaq was already thinking he was the man......Dennis Scott had a big ego too........po Nick Anderson never recovered from being Nick the Brick on the free throws and that is what broke up that team. Chuck Daley was too hard on them and they all quit.
It is very rare that two superstars can coexist on a basketball team unless one of the stars don't care about who gets the limelight........like Karl Malone and John Stockton. Karl couldn't have played with Zeke. Stockton didn't care for all the glitz so he was fine with it being the Mailman's show.
Look what happened to the Rockets when they thought they could duplicate what the Bulls did with Jordan, Rodman and Pippen.........they get Barkley, and team him up with Clyde and Olajuwon first..........Po Clyde couldn't take Chuck after one year and then retires....In comes Pippen with his over inflated ego(mind you I was a big Bulls fan then) to join Dream, Barkley and company......nothing but issues. Cassell and Olajuwon had issues after Kenny left. So man these cats just are like that. Barkley said he knew the Celtics would be alright with KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen because all were good guys and not ego maniacs. He knew how he was. LOL.
So are you saying that Kobe carried the Lakers to the championship 3 times in a row? Are you saying he is the reason the Lakers won 3 in a row and played for a 4th? Interesting the Lakers nor anybody with any basketball acumen would agree that it was KOBE that won those titles and Shaq was just the Pippen of the Lakers. Man you must be crazy as mofo to believe that.
No, I don't like Kobe. Still don't. And no he will never be what I thought Jordan, Magic and Bird was to the NBA. So nothing he does will change that. So you can get off this I told yall Kobe carried Shaq bs. Nobody but unadulterated Kobe dick riders believe that. Hell as much as I was a Dr. J fan when he was at Philly. I would never have said he carried Moses Malone to the Finals with him. Like I have told you.........Kobe aint even in top 3 Lakers of all time............Kareem, Magic and Wilt will always be. Hell even Magic carried a team to the Finals and won a MVP as rookie in the Finals. I am sure Kobe has done all of that. Now get out of here with all this Kobe crap. He played well this year.......probably his best year in the league. But aint no way he carried no damn Shaq to those 3 titles. Did he help......yes.......but back then.......you could have had Rip Hamilton in that spot and Shaq and that team would have won the title.
thank youIn 2000 when they had to go through the Sun's and the Kings Kobe was the reason they escaped. When they got to the West finals in game 7 what did big diesel do? Miss free throw after free throw and looked like a big dummy until Kobe threw an alley to secure the game. Dont fcuk Kobe fcuk your girl lol. Men lie, women lie, but numbers dont!
SMH @ you Kobe jockologists.....lmao
Kobe carried Shaq.. yall wait till this man is on his way out to talk this dumb isht...lmao...
Like JR said.. Shaq could have had Rip Hamilton and won those championships,
Shaq could have had David West back then and won them championships...
Kobe back then was nothing more than what AI was.. now ask yourself how many ring(s) AI has....:retard:
Last time I checked Ostertag was starting...
Then why didnt shaq win a title with the best player in the league at the time Afernee Hardaway? Cause hardaway aint kobe
this much hate cant be healthy
JR
Do you watch basketball? GR knows that you folks that earn 6 figures consider basketball a negro sport, but you are the saddest. In 95-96 when MJ was suspended, Hardaway was the man. Hardaway was easily the most talented player in the league. He lacked heart, but he had a lot of game.
And finally Kobe carried Shaq to those titles. Shaq could have been replaced with David Robinson, Kevin Duckworth, or Tree Rollins and Kobe still would have won those championships.
Seriously, Mourning could have easily replaced Shaq
Hate aint strong enough how about................
I abHOr that *%*#&) EBOK!
Dude you are on dope. No Shaq and Kobe would still be looking for his first ring. You seem to forget Portland and Sacramento and even San Antonio would have won if it was not for Shaq being in LA. We would be talking about how great the Spurs dynasty is.
As for Penny.....please............Pippen had a better year than Penny when Jordan was gone. But anyway Olajuwon was the best player in the NBA both years MJ was gone. No one could stop him. You can keep all that suspended Jordan crap. Because no way Reinsdorf could let him play on his farm team and be affliated with MLB baseball if he was secretly suspended from the NBA. Pete Rose and his attorneys would have had baseball by the nut sack. Since the white folks seem to part of all that kind of stuff. Surely they would think the same isht GR does. Surely Pete Rose would have been livid. Gambling is gambling. Paul Hornung and Alex Karras send help. LOL. So keep your crazy conspiracy theories to yourself. Heck in that case...........Kobe really paid off that white girl to commit perjury about that Colorado incident. LOL.
But let me go ahead and spunk  over your boy finally getting a NBA MVP:clap: So Congrats to maybe the third or 4th greatest player in Laker History.
But leave the greatest of all time out of this. When the Lakers erect a statue of Kobe in front of the Staples Center then holla back at a player......Magic and Kareem send help.
