If PV's Colors are Purple and Gold?





Even I know that PV's colors are Purple, Gold, and Blue. I have a first cousin who was professor of military science there 25 years ago. They used 3 colors then and they still use 3 colors.
 
Uhhh.....Actually....

PV's colors are Royal Purple and Gold. It's a very dark purple that is often mistaken for blue, apparently.

Take a look at PV's percussion section. The drums they use are BLUE. When you compare the color of those drums to the color of PV's uniforms, you will see that PV's unis have not a spec of blue on them....anywhere.

What was not distinguished about his answer? There is actually confusion about shades of purple including royal purple and how some are taken to be blue (although I'm not sure what side Royal Purple actually falls on). If you look now at the PV police cars the stripes appear to be blue and gold. My high school's colors were purple and gold and had a set of uniforms that looked closer to blue in the sun. If you take a look at the schools website (http://www.pvamu.edu/pages/1.asp) you will see the purple used throughout the site is not the obvious bright purple color. If you notice in my signature I did not use the most purple of the purples given. At any rate I believe the color is used to accentuate the fact that the colors are ROYAL purple and not just purple even if the real Royal Purple falls on the opposite side of the spectrum in some descriptions.

I have also heard that Prof Edwards is opposed to the purple dye used in uniforms with a very purple color due to a previous bad experience with having them cleaned.

But hey....maybe royal purple really does look like navy blue to you.

Regardless, I just told you what you needed to know.

SU wears Blue and Gold....

ALCORN wears Purple and Gold.

The L.A. Lakers and the Minnesota Vikings wear Purple and Gold....

PV wears Royal Purple and Gold....not blue and gold....nor navy blue and gold...nor some ordinary purple and gold.


If you still have problems trying to differentiate between the purples....may I suggest that you look up the Crayola website? Perhaps they can help you more than I.
