How to Get More People to the Celebration Bowl

Wrong! Houston is winning and Hype friendly. Look at the rodeo now. It's growing every year. Black people coming from everywhere because it's hyped as the place to be seen. Look at the population and economy within a 5-6 hour drive of Houston.

htown/harris county is HBCU unfriendly. Don't try to hype it up as the HBCU destination when it is not. Period. Point blank.

I worked with the SWAC when they first moved to Birmingham and during all of the SWAC Championship Games and I remember all of the "attendance" talk then. My response then as is now, you can't base attendance for SCG or The Celebration Bowl against well established "Classics". The economics of black households determines the attendance at these 2 games. When you factor in you might not know if your team is playing in the SCG until after the Bayou Classic - so many years the West representative has come down to the result of that game - and now you have to suddenly make travel arrangements. Do you sit out the SCG and hope you make it to the Celebration Bowl? Now you have sudden flights to book in a weeks notice, all while navigating the holiday season, these are real factors for a lot of HBCU households. We also are judging these games - and for this conversation the Celebration Bowl - against games that have been established and locked in for over 30 plus years. These Classics were not drawing 50,000 out of the gate, it took time and nurturing to get those games to that point. Look at how many "Classics" that have fallen by the wayside in these past years. I have always said, whatever the SWAC Avg Attendance is as a conference, if we get that we are great and anything above that average is gravy. ESPN/Disney does not care about attendance - per se'. They have created all of these bowl games and holiday basketball tournaments to sell commercial time. They can get more money from selling ad space for live content such as these bowls games and tournaments than running repeats of Get Up, replays of games, and loops of Sports Center. They are making a killing from that standpoint. The Celebration Bowl does great numbers as we have seen, it is going to continue to do so and imagine if ESPN REALLY tried to make it a truly huge event - First Take the Friday before the game, College Game Day on site since this is the first bowl game of the season just to name a couple of things that could be easily done. Also, matchups make a huge difference, while on paper it would have a been a good story, can you imagine the attendance if Delaware State had made the game? Maybe their fan base would have surprised everyone and turned Atlanta blue and red, but I can't see their base being larger than SC State. All in all, I know this convo will continue, just wanted to throw my couple of pennies outchea lol.

How many time have you ever been right when you disagreed with me? Exactly, NONE, and today isn't looking good for you either.

We told you pre-season that PV would win the SWAC W, win the SCG, and go to the ATL and beat up on somebody. We accomplished all 3.

You said it would be sTu led by a celebrity aka dish water. Coaches who are non-celebs win. Celebrities faulter in the end. (message) 👀

Say mane, that hurt. You know you ain't right. Mane, I hope you hit your pinky toe on your dresser or something so hard the nail turns black.

You know I can't stand those nfl rejects including old dirty cold Dishwater.

Like someone mention, attendance is going to vary based on what schools are in the game. I think the organizers of the Celebration Bowl just need to take a page from pro wrestling and stage the seating by ensure that most of the lower parts of the bowl seating are sold before opening up the up levels.
