Hoover vs John Curtis TONIGHT

3rd Quarter
John Curtis 21
Hoover 14

John Curtis has made the right adjustments on Defense and is now taking it to Hoover. If Hoover doesn't wake up and play like the #1 team in the nation; the upset will happen tonight.

#4 for JC is the best player on the field.

That is the truth! John Curtis looks like the #1 team in the nation and Hoover is struggling to find it's groove.

It looks like Hoover is getting their azz whooped. Curtis-28-14 with 10:32 left in the 4th. Maybe MTV will now consider John Curtis...

Them boys from the boot. Still can't stand there *zz though  . They stopped my former school Baker, from winning a State title.

Believe me, that was not the Evangel that used to be ranked in the nation year in and year out. Evangel hasn't been Evangel since John David Booty left along with his dad...... So, that game really doen't make South Lake Carroll the real s**t. I want to see them play Hoover, but SLC coach refuses to take his boys out of the state to play anybody. I think that says a lot about the confidence that he has in his team against unfamiliar competition..... I know Propst will come to his azz though if SLC wants to go at it.....

Sorry...I don't agree. I give SLC a little more credit than that. SLC played on the 5A division for a while and had success playing on that level before going back down to 4A. What the team lacks in athleticism (being politically correct because if any of you have been to Southlake you know what I mean) at the skill positions, they make up with proper technique and discipline.

All of the coaches in the district (middle school and high school) run the same offensive and defensive system. The parents of the district refuse to open a new high school because they know it would result in some of the players transfering to the new school. They saw first hand what happened to Plano High School when Plano East and Plano West were openend. The Plano dynasty came to an end and the Southlake community was not about to let that happen to SLC. So knowing that they needed a new high school campus because the one high school that they had was over crowding do to the increasing population of the City of Southlake...what do they do? Build a new campus, take the 9th and 10th grade students and put them on one campus...call it "Carroll High School". And then take the 11th and 12th grade students and put them on another campus and call it "Carroll Senior High School". The fine people of Southlake, Texas accomplish two things...eliminate the overcrowding issue by building another campus, but keeping it all one school by separating the classes and keeping the same school name.

H.S. Football is king in Texas. Them people in Southlake ain't about to lose a good thing like Plano did.

Final
John Curtis 28
Hoover 14

Good game. JC simply stood up to Hoover & Hoover did not respond. At all. I'd like to see Southlake Caroll from Texas play some of those other top 10 teams. Probably any of those top 25 teams can beat eachother on any given night.

HELL YEAH!!!! I KNEW THAT S**T WAS GOING TO HAPPEN......... I also see on Hoover's website, that they didn't schedule the team that gave them their lone loss last year (Tuscalousa County).

Im not understanding LA high school classifications.... do they classify based on how good you are? You threw me off when you said larger schools were complaining... I take it LA has alot of private schools playing football?

Here it dont matter how good you are... they look at enrollment from 10-12 grade and section it off.... You can have the baddest team in the state but if you have 250 people in those grades you are going to be a 1a school. We dont have too many private schools playing football here. I can really only think of about 4 in AHSAA.
As far as enrollment is concerned, JC has always been a legit Class 1A or 2A school, but played up to 3A ball before we went up to 5A classification in '93. Then, they moved up to 4A. The legitiment larger schools were complaining about JC winning so much, that they decided just recently to put the power schools in the class that is conducive to their enrollment. That is why Evangel is playing 1A or 2A ball, and JC is playing 1A ball in which they will win convincingly....

Hoover played its absolute WORST game... Truth be told JC should have beat Hoover WORST.... Hoover qb was playing like he had a concusion the entire game.. He usually throws for 350 plus yards... I dont remember him throwing the ball more than 3 times until the last drive. He would get the ball out of shotgun and run in circles with NO pressure being applied to him.

JC scored on 4 trick plays... 2 times on the same exact play. They didnt have a pass game, so Hoover played the run the entire game and it backfired on them twice...

I have NEVER seen an atmosphere like that.... imagine about 16,000 people with EVERYBODY wearing all black.... The tailgate reminded me of a SU homecoming tailgate... Hoover students even have their own tailgate parking lot at the stadium... JC fans were deep also... It had to be about 20,000 there. and NOBODY sat down the entire game.

Funniest play of the night is when a JC player ran a PUNT the wrong way and SWORE he score a touchdown lol... luckily Hoover got a clipping penalty and the safety was called back.

John Curtis is a run team... they will just line up and tell you to try to stop it.

They couldnt steady run on Hoover... They had 2 run plays which had to be all of their total rushing yards... One went for about 67 yards and the other for about 50.... Other than that... their big plays came off play action because Hoover was playing the run the entire game.

JC also knew how to keep their cool.. they were very slick in playing dirty and getting Hoover to do something in retalitation to get a 15 yard penalty... that killed 2 scoring drives.

You have no idea of what you are talking about.... Tuscaloosa County was in Hoovers region last year... they had to play... they were replaced by Homewood this year since Homewood moved to 6a (Homewood was the 5a state champs the last 2 years).... Hoovers schedule was full with the two out of state games.... also you must not have watched 2 a days this past week... you failed to mention that Hoover beat Tuscaloosa County by 40 in the state playoffs last year.

The face mask penality called against a JC lineman should have actually been called against Hoover's QB, because he grasped JC's lineman's mask first. It could be seen clearly on T.V.------

He was fuccin up the ENTIRE game... He is the sole reason they lost... when he DID do something he would talk mess and get a 15 yard penalty... He should have been pulled in the 3rd quarter. Hoover had 29 yards passing... TWENTY NINE... They usually get about 350... and the sad thing about it is.. I cant even say it was JC's defense... The qb just DIDNT THROW THE BALL... He wasnt even being pressured... he was just running in circles as soon as he got the ball out of the shotgun... It was like he was trying to make a bad Mike Vick impersonation.... Then he got upset with the crowd when everybody started chanting the back up qb's name.

I cant wait till next year when they show this episode on Two a Days.... also.. Hoover needs to get rid of that Two A Days ish... It HAS to be distracting them... I felt like I was watching a movie..The entire film crew followed Hoovers qb the entire game. If he was in a huddle they were right there... It looked like the whole thing was staged....I was waiting on him to get frustrated and just start swingin on the camera men.

Hoover's QB had about 10 seconds to pass eveytime he dropped back. That's a lot of time. The JC DBs had the Hoover receivers on lock down the entire game.

It's not that Hoover played bad, they just played a team that completely controlled the game. Hoover is a real good team but people created way too much hype around them.
