Under your scenario (with the Texas teams being permanent rivals with the Bama teams) there is no way around a Texas trip to one or the other.

DUH! I have no idea why that is so hard to understand. The teams are gonna have to play each other ANYWAY so what so difficult to comprehend that. Be it every year or every other year we are going to play - instead of dwelling on the Texas/Bama connection - the bigger picture is the ability to schedule 4 FOUR additional games outside of the conference that quite possibly will allow you to make up any "so-called" lost revenue/attendance.
