"Here"...

i am not reliable...in this position, they bed not be waiting on me to come in, this batch would burn down. i'll take off when my nose is running. if the weather says it's going to snow, sleet, or ice, it's curtains.

I'm very dependable and I'm at work all the time. This year they are making us use up our comp time before the end of August. Most folks wanted to cash them out but they didn't have enough money in the budget for that and a lot of us are off most of this summer. I did get to cash out 40hrs back in May but that was before they put out the memo about the budget. I get 15 days vacation per year and 5 personal days per year along with the additional sick days. We can carry over a unlimited amount of sick days and they will pay you for them when you retire. We can't have more than 30 vacation days on the books or you lose whats over that amount. With all the comp time and my vacation time, I've been off most of the summer. I have only worked 6 days in July, I worked 12 days in June. Back in May I worked mostly 3 days a week with Sun & Thurs off. I'm gonna miss all those comp days I had because I was really saving those for a later time. The way my shift runs I will still pick up another 10-15 comp days in the new fiscal year, along with my vacation days. I don't run my vacation days under 13 so when the new fiscal year comes I will get another 15 and be close to the max that I can carry. We don't have a max on personal days that we can carry anymore so I'm starting let those add up.

My job can put a watch to me, and every job that I've ever had was the same. I'm on time, if not early 99.9% of the time, and when I do take a sick day, they never question it, because they know I'm really sick, this has been the first time in 3 years that I had to take a sick day for myself (dayum flu shot). Actually, I'd only taken 3 sick days in 3 years, and 2 were for my sister being up here with me after Katrina, and the other was for my wife having surgery. At my last job, they made me take time off, because I never did, and they actually felt I would get burned out.

Rain, sleet, snow, HAH! I laugh at that, and the majority of the time, I'm even earlier on snow days. The same with personal days, if I don't have anything to do, then I won't take the day off.

I would say as far as realiblity is concerned, I'm as reliablity as there can be. I don't take off, I'm RARELY late, and I don't abuse the company phone, cell phone, or lap top. Now personal computer at the office, that's another story. LOL

NICE

I am always at work, and I actually hate to miss work because I don't like to put my work on someone else. When I worked for Florida, I never used any vacation days, and since moving to VA I have only used 1. I am always early. If I am late for work, they know something is wrong.

Its just one of those things that I like to do. It is my job, might as well be on time. It is a personal issue though, unrelated to where I work. I was even this way when I worked at a gas station during college.
