HBCU Basketball: November 16-22

RPI has nothing to do with division I basketball categories for programs. Fans can for get excited after wins against major or mid major schools until the SWAC is to the level of having 3 bids in the NCAA.

You're really going to have to elaborate on this one. If RPI has nothing to do with division one basketball than why has it been used for the last several decades to determine SOS and conference power ratings?

As for us getting 3 bids. What mid-major do you know has ever gotten three bids?

There's having goals then there's having unrealistic dreams.

Lol. The SWAC will never see those days. I actually like seeing us in the play n game. I want to see a SWAC program make a NIT, CBI or CTI tournament run as well.

Jesus Christ your expectations are low as hell aren't they? We have an automatic bid so we're in a play-in game no matter what dude. Geesh

I said it has nothing to do with division I categories. The SWAC has a great RPI ranking this year, but will still be considered a lower major conference at the end of the year. I understand way it is used, but I was making the point that you posting the RPI ratings really doesn't mean anything in your debate about why SWAC fans are so excited about beating PWI schools.

We have watched the Missouri Valley Conference get its share of bids for the past few years. The Horizon has done it as well. I should have said "until the SWAC gets 2 "at large bids" to make myself clear.

I do think the SWAC is on a rise after watching everyone play and reviewing these numbers vs the non conference. improvement can only lead to some #15 or even #14 seeding in the NCAA tournament, higher NIT seeds, and better opportunities in the other post season tournaments like the CBI or CIT.

No, they either put us in a play in game with our automatic bid or they give us the #16 or #15 seed. You have seen it plenty of times.

Not sure what y'all are debating about, but this is what I have seen as well. Although the SWAC receives an automatic bid, that doesn't mean the will be given an undisputed seed. We all know that the #16 vs #16 play in game/opening round game usually has the SWAC's name on it.(I usually agree with the decision for the play n game).

Two more great OOC wins for the SWAC so far with Valley starting off great against Air Force.

Alcorn ya'll need to step it up. sTu what's really going on?

Gram even though their size and experience took over the second half. You guys look much improved from the last game.

we have 5 guys who are waiting to get cleared and derrick griffin waiting for football season to be officially over.

I actually like this SU team. Well I guess knowing that they have something to play for and that ban is lifted is making them hungry and it is showing. Wouldnt be surprised if we come into Swac play over .500 and beat some more ncaa tournament teams
