Request any and all info on places to go and things to do while visiting MVSU this weekend. Is there an VWF or ELK's club? Which hotels would you recommend? Where is a good place to eat? Is the hole-in-wall a safe place to get your drink on?

kellis said:Plow, you may be SOL. My hometown is not visitor friendly. Try the Hampton Inn off I-82 W. It's fairly new. A good place to eat....good hole in the wall........ :lmao:
When I go home, I make sure I go to the Big 25 and let Critaucal's folks make me a "Quarter Burger". Bo Roach's place has some good BBQ. The Orlando Club is right across the street from the VFW. Both places usually have a crowd on Saturday.

Hotels? I think there's an like-new hotel right off Hwy 82 W (down from the new Super Wal-Mart), and I think it's the Hampton Inn.

CriTAUcal said:Yeah, those my folks. I was going in that place when I was barely tall enough to see over the bar. They got a DJ nowadays, but when I was little, it was that old jukebox up against the wall by the door (playing NOTHING but the blues). I think they still got those Colt 45 posters and red lights (and Christmas lights) all over the place to give it that dark, smoky jukejoint look.
