George Bush/Collin Powell's "proof" on Iraq

I was there during the Gulf War, and afterwards on rotation. I didn't need to see the current level of info to be convinced. However, some people are only convinced someone is trying to break into their house after their door is kicked in and the person is walking in on them.

"Maybe he thought he was at the wrong house when he tried the window first???"

Some questions:

Are we in a "War Against Terror"?

Is the focus of this "War" al Quida?

Did Colin Powell show satellite and arial photos of an al Quida camp that had chemical weapons?

Does the US have planes flying over the no-fly zone and in the Gulf (or cruise missiles, etc)?

The answer to all four of these is YES, so...

Why hasn't that camp (and all the other targets that Powell showed yesterday) been bombed yet?

While we're at it, what are we going to do about Korea? Why don't we try the Saudis' plan to oust Saddam? Who's going to occupy Iraq? How are we going to pay for this? Why the urgency over Iraq, but not Korea? Why have Iran, Syria, and others who have housed terrorists escaped scrutiny? Why not use what worked before Saddam kicked the inspectors out--INTENSE inspections that would eliminate any progress on building WMD? Who's going to pay for the half million refugees when the US attacks Iraq?

But that's enough questions.

Oh, I forgot.

Iraq has a couple of things that may be made into a gun with a lot of help. North Korea has a .357.

I'm still not convince that this Iraqi war will protect us from more attacks from Al Qaida. In fact, I think this war will facilitate more terrorist attacks. However, since its a done deal I will support our troops. I believe our Northern Watch and Southern Watch operations are containing Saddam Hussein. Containment worked against the Russians and the communist bloc.

Now the terror threat has been raised to "high", which begs me to ask again: If we have aerial recon. of an Al Qaeda camp, why couldn't we have bombed it by now?

I guess that means you can't answer.

You bufoon, I have the scope and ability to answer any question your feeble mind could ever come up with. But no matter what, your anti-establisment, anti-everthing governmental, anti-society having amalgam of brain matter would have a divergent opinion in regards to anything I had to say. You should stick to matters that you are an expert on, like getting opinions on pics pf transexuals and hermaphrodites.

Unknown1, Makaho,,

first of all, question to Unknown1. is there any circumstance under which you would agree that war is necessary?

question to Makaho. do you ever approach a conversation without being in the adversarial conservative vs liberal/socialist/marxist/democrat mindset?

Thankyou in advance for your replies. :read:

What whim?

The whim that WE still don't have proof that this war is necessary. I find it strange that all of the other nations in the UN are withholding from joining this war until the END of the UN inspections to even consider it...yet DUBYA is quoted as saying "we'll go it alone if we have to." WTF?

Bush family?s dirty little secret:
President?s oil companies funded by Bin Laden family and wealthy Saudis who financed Osama bin Laden

By Rick Wiles
Copyright: American Freedom News
September 2001

President Bush recently signed an executive order to freeze the US financial assets of corporations doing business with Osama bin Laden. He described the order as a "strike on the financial foundation of the global terror network.?

"If you do business with terrorists, if you support or succor them, you will not do business with the United States," said President Bush.

He didn?t say anything about doing business with a terrorist?s brother ? or his wealthy financier.

When President George W. Bush froze assets connected to Osama bin Laden, he didn?t tell the American people that the terrorist mastermind?s late brother was an investor in the president?s former oil business in Texas. He also hasn?t leveled with the American public about his financial connections to a host of shady Saudi characters involved in drug cartels, gun smuggling, and terrorist networks.

Doing business with the enemy is nothing new to the Bush family. Much of the Bush family wealth came from supplying needed raw materials and credit to Adolf Hitler?s Third Reich. Several business operations managed by Prescott Bush ? the president?s grandfather - were seized by the US government during World War II under the Trading with the Enemy Act.

On October 20, 1942, the federal government seized the Union Banking Corporation in New York City as a front operation for the Nazis. Prescott Bush was a director. Bush, E. Roland Harriman, two Bush associates, and three Nazi executives owned the bank?s shares. Eight days later, the Roosevelt administration seized two other corporations managed by Prescott Bush. The Holland-American Trading Corporation and the Seamless Steel Equipment Corporation, both managed by the Bush-Harriman bank, were accused by the US federal government of being front organizations for Hitler?s Third Reich. Again, on November 8, 1942, the federal government seized Nazi-controlled assets of Silesian-American Corporation, another Bush-Harriman company doing business with Hitler.

Doing business with the bin Laden empire, therefore, is only the latest extension of the Bush family?s financial ties to unsavory individuals and organizations. Now that thousands of American citizens have died in terrorist attacks and the nation is going to war, the American people should know about George W. Bush?s relationship with the family of Osama bin Laden.

Salem bin Laden, Osama?s older brother, was an investor in Arbusto Energy. ? the Texas oil company started by George W. Bush. Arbusto means ?Bush? in Spanish. Salem bin Laden died in an airplane crash in Texas in 1988.

Sheik Mohammed bin Laden, the family patriarch and founder of its construction empire, also died in a plane crash. Upon his death in 1968, he left behind 57 sons and daughters ? the offspring he sired with 12 wives in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. About a dozen brothers manage Bin Laden Brothers Construction ? one of the largest construction firms in the Middle East.

Fresh out of Harvard Business School, young George W. Bush returned to Midland, TX, in the late 1970s to follow his father?s footsteps in the oil business. Beginning in 1978, he set up a series of limited partnerships ? Arbusto ?78, Arbusto ?79, and so on ? to drill for oil.

One of President Bush?s earliest financial backers was James Bath, a Houston aircraft broker. Bath served with President Bush in the Texas Air National Guard. Bath has a mysterious connection to the Central Intelligence Agency.

According to a 1976 trust agreement, Salem bin Laden appointed James Bath as his business representative in Houston. Revelation about Bath?s relationship with the bin Laden financial empire and the CIA was made public in 1992 by Bill White, a former real estate business partner with Bath. White informed federal investigators in 1992 that Bath told him that he had assisted the CIA in a liaison role since 1976 ? the same year former President George Herbert Walker Bush served as director of the CIA..............

Yanno, a simple utilization of the "Ignore" feature on this page would allow everybody to no longer see my mindset, conservative or otherwise. I have officially given up hope on mofos on this page.

I'll answer, he never does. He is angry that ALL of us do not think as he does. He disrespects those of us who are not members of the Republican Party and resorts to name calling. And those names don't even apply to me! :emlaugh: One of the few reasons why I am not Republican is that they treat dissent insanely. The other reasons have to do with the 1st amendment, the 4th amendment, and the 14th amendment, but I digress...

I rather enjoy divergent opinions; for one thing they allow me to HEAR what other people think and sometimes I learn about things I didn't know. How dull would this world be if we all thought the same friggin' way!!!!! I would certainly be OUT OF BUSINESS! JStateTiger, Robber, and JSTUS too! :swink:

Now here's what I think, that the need to show the world community that there is some tangible "proof" that Hussein has weapons was just senseless. Of course he has been stockpiling weapons and never destroyed any after the Persian Gulf war. This war is about oil, money, access, and revenge.

We should have taken out Hussein 12 years ago and we certainly can locate and destroy Al-Quaida camps wherever they be. Placating the other world leaders and peoples is a waste of time. If we be the super leaders, then let's leader super style.

I support our troops. And our country's position in this war. Although it is with a heavy heart and very personal...my research assistant, with only 5 months from earning his JD, is in Khandhar and our law clerk's unit was activated Friday. She was scheduled to graduate in August.

God bless America.

You seem to have a very short and selective memory. I no longer choose to respond because it makes no difference to you people. What's the point...If people won't listen to someone who lived in Korea and Saudi Arabia, influenced policy and was a veteran of the Gulf War why should I bother.

It's the internet, I really don't care enough about you people to even bother anymore. Again, click here --------> Ignore Option
Believe me, it works!!!

No actually you are the one suffering from selective memory. Firstly, I rather enjoyed hearing your prospective because you were a veteran. And welcome a discourse with you and any other military person, because you would know things and have information and a viewpoint to which I am not privy. And what else you forgot is that I said I respected what veterans say having being reared by a full bird Army Colonel who is a Korean War Veteran. And what else is shorted in your memory is that I said all those thing to you but chose not to engage in a conversation with you because when I disagree with you and becasue I was not Republican you called me a whoare (which I am not) uneducated (I have 2 BAs and a JD and passed all parts of the LA Bar the first time 20 years ago) and that I was on welfare (I grew up upper middle class, 3rd generation college graduate, and presently make a 6 figure salary, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE GOVERNMENT'S TIT) and you went on and on with insults that were uncalled for and unnecessary. Your attacks were personal and based upon my party affiliation and my pro-choice stance on abortion. I have not forgotten a damn thing.

BgJag is a retired veteran with over 20 years of service and I talk to him a lot about the war, about how he feels, about what it means. I talk to my dad who is now 71 years old and very much has an opinion about what is happening. I value your contribution to the conversation, but you don't want to discuss you want to cuss. I chose not to be disrespected, so I stop talking to you.

Now you said your were finished with us people...like the Catholics finally gave up killing people in the Crusades when they wouldn't geneflect to the Pope.

Mane, take you own HONORABLE advice, put all of us except for Suge on ignore. And be gone for real if you don't want to lower yourself to talk to people of our ilk.

Is your memory refreshed now?

It's not my duty to provide or establish a line of communication within the realms of this board J.C. If people are going to do things like intrepret me answering the question of "Why I exchange in discourse with Liberals" by saying that "Jesus walked amongst Lepers and Whores, so I guess I can tolerate Liberals" as me calling them a Whore... then I guess I am a name caller. If you think an internet forum is gonna be an outlet for the survival of our country, then I suggest you begin your crusade with Black Planet. They have considerably more members.
