Football Player Exodus from LSU????????

So you believe every black student that go or went to LSU don't get decent jobs...LOL I agree that racism still exist but if you didn't get the memo there are now more black students at PWC around the country than HBCU(s). Pass the word on at the black panther meeting. LOL

Ethan Martin was a janitor but where are all the educators, accountants, lawyers etc, that matriculated at LSU that happen to be black?

I feel more black students (who are playing football for these cracka schools) that are going to these schools don't get fair shots after they have finished their football career and don't make it to the draft....

I see alot of those ex-football players after they leave these programs struggle to the every day life after they finish playing for these schools...I see more kids that have gone to these HBCUs that have played football do more than the ones who have gone to these big-tyme schools

I personally know one couple that graduated from LSU. She is a lawyer and he was an athlete. She had to pay for her education with loans and money from her parents, whereas he had a free ride with an athletic scholarship. Funny thing, after all that money he got from LSU for school, she turnout to be a lot more successful than him, which is why I think these big schools are pimping Black athletes to maximum to make money. Most of these big schools like LSU, have a Black student population of approximately 600 to 800 kids out of a total student population of 30,000 to 40,000, which equates to 2% of the total student population. Although Black enrollment is only 2% at schools like LSU, Black athletes enrolled at these same schools probably makeup more than 50% of the student athletes on scholarship. IMO, these schools are using our Black athletes as a means of making lots of money to support a disproportionally large number of White kids to attend college, and some of these White kids probably had far less aptitude than a lot of Black kids that didn't get the chance to attend college. These schools should at least try harder to represent this country’s population breakdown, which is approximately 10% for African Americans.

This here

This what I wanted Buckwheats to understand..just becuz it's free doesn't mean it's free lol

Dude stop it...lol..everything isn't always good folk

You can get the same "free" education elsewhere and you should know how crackas folks work...A free education...most of those college players if they don't get drafted work at Lowes or Home Depot somewhere once they finish their college career...Do you think any of those LSU fans will lend a helping hand and hire them into their company..

I'll wait on your answer.....

Some will, some will not. I'm not ignorant now, I know some of the players are being used. It's up to the athletes to take advantage of the opportunity to get an education or even make it to the pros.

Four of my friends that I played football/baseball with in high school went to a PWC on scholarship and are doing well.

T. High went to MSU undergrad/Ole Miss Grad and Law school. He's a lawyer in the Jackson, MS area.
T's brother went to Bama and played on the national championship team in 93. He's successful in the Atlanta area.
C. Floyd went to MSU and graduated. He's head of the region Boy Scouts in his area where he lives.
D. King graduated from Ole Miss and now has his own IT consulting company in the Jackson area.
Jarius Jackson from Tupelo went to ND and played in the NFL. He also played in the CFL and is doing well.
Russell Copeland from Tupelo also played for Memphis State and had a good career in the NFL.

I can go on and on....
I posted this to show you that these guys are doing well. This is a new day and time, kids can go where they want to go to school. They are not obligated to go to an HBCU.

True, but they represent a small number of Black kids that PWC schools recruit real hard. What about those non-athletic kids with an academic background? Just like your friends took advantage of their athletic scholarship, I'm sure their are a lot of black kids that would take full advantage of an academic scholarship.

I understand your point. But it still falls back on the kids to take advantage of the opportunity. It's a PWC, so it would be hard to have a larger percentage of AA kids going there.

LSU AA population is 11.2% and graduated 477 AA last year. I agree that athletes are getting exploited just not only PWC. :emlaugh: You all are living in fantasy land. The college football landscape has changed forever as has segregation.

Honestly, he has no point. There are 10 of thousands of AA non athlete students that are highly successful. The mere idea is lunacy. I have personally worked with grads from Ole Miss, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia and many more PWC that are AA and didn't have jack to do with athletics. :smh:  :emlaugh:

You only get used if you allow yourself to be used. It can happen at our schools as well as the PWCs. I may not be a SEC fan. But I do know some of those kids are taking advantage of their situations as student athletes and doing well after playing. Just like we all know some of our former athletes who ain't doing nothing with themselves even if they have a degree or not. You as a person have to have to get up and go about yourself. My old man who was a HBCU die hard always would say those kids who go to the PWCs to play ball should take advantage of their situation and use the MAN and not let the MAN use you. So when he would hear those sob stories how Pookie and Ray Ray just was playing around in school and didn't make it in the pros, he had no sympathy for them. Because they had their opportunity to get that paper from said PWC. But chose not to do it banking on NFL or NBA riches.

Based on Louisiana's demographics, LSU is still coming up short. Louisiana's AA population is 32.1%. AA athletes are living in a fantasy land. Only a small percentage make it to the pros and even a smaller percentage have a successful career. Schools like LSU should recruit just as hard for AA academic students as they do for AA athletic students.

Kids are getting used regardless if they graduate or not, make the pros or not. At the end of the day, intercollegiate athletics is a multimillion-dollar industry.

Shid man. Those PWCs are coming hard after minority kids these days. Why you think their numbers are up. Don't let what is going on at UCLA and some other schools fool you. The PWCs are trying to recruit our best and brightest for academics only. It is a given athletically. LOL. But man you would shocked at how many kids of color are walking these PWC campuses now. Heck I can even see it at the Naval Academy. They are getting more and more African American kids each year. But they are on it with their recruiting which is hard since you have the military obligation after graduation and of course the old myth that we don't like water or like to swim. LOL.

The problem with your contentions is 32% of Louisiana AA citizens don't go to college. Hell at 1 time the AA population high school drop out rate was disgraceful. Please show documented proof that LSU is not executing a strategic plan to recruit AA academic students as they do AA athletes. I agree with you though that a lot of those athletes are delusional. However, it is their decision to go where they please and position themselves to capitalize on their endeavor no matter whether their plan is flawed or not.

Honestly, they have been doing it for quite sometime now and unfortunately in many instances doing it better than HBCU(s).

Show me proof that they are. Anyone can open a newspaper, go on the internet, or watch TV to see how hard they are recruiting Black athletes. In the young couple's case I previously posted, they should have given the wife an academic scholarship instead of giving the husband an athlete scholarship. She has way more income then he does, which means she can give back more.

If you don't think LSU is recruiting AA students within the parameters of their admission standards, you are just as delusional as some of those athletes you're referring to. BTW, students being recruited also get phone calls, physical location visits and mail. Have you been checking the recruiting office phone lines, recruiting itineraries and outgoing mail? :emlaugh:

No, but I'm sure you have, which means you can show me proof of their recruiting habits, since you brought it up.
