why would he focus his job as commissioner of the swac towards getting even with su. That is crazy man!!! The man is more mature than that !!

That is like asking PRISCRILLA SLADE TO BECOME THE COMMISSIONER OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND SHE TRIES TO MAKE TSU PAY?? SHE WOULD BE MORE INVOLVED WITH HER NEW JOB AND NOT ABOUT SMALL TIME TSU.
 
Hmmmp and the money thing hasn't even came out yet.........130k for a concert and he sold only 40 tickets.......ticket master sends him a check for swac championship game in the amount of 17k.......do the math folks something just ain't right

Where are all those "whatever we getting, it's all good" poster's that was all in my arse about showing the financial breakdown on the SCG and other SWAC event's.
CLASSICS that are supposed to be so good for every school.

This could be a blessing for the conference, now is the time for the presidents to come together and really do whats right for all 10 schools and its fans.

I believe ya.....................No surprise here.

I have never seen people that never release any financial detail's of anything like the SWAC.
The SCG been going on since 1999 and I still have not gotten an answer on the financial breakdown on anything from anybody.

I hope they dont try to bring somebody in from within the conference because we will end up in the same situation with the same results! We a commisioner with a vision!!!!!!:lecture:

Well Frat, I think everybody has asked about the SCG money breakdown........All I ever heard was that it was free to play in the stadium. Nothing about who paid what expenses to the schools and their bands in the SCG or what. I am sure it has to be public information somehow.

Can't speak for other Classics.......but SU and Gram know what our money breakdown is for the BC. Aint nothing secret about that one. Folks have been called on the carpet for that before.......Ask Marino Casem about that one. LOL.

I hear fan throw out words like vision and innovator and imagination when it comes to wanting a new leader.

What specific type of "vision" would you want a new person to have?

I am speaking in general, I just want the conference to be better overall, for example me and my boys went down to the SCG and had a horrible time not because my school lost but because it could have been more SWAC things going on that are fan friendly maybe a fan day, like a SWAC wide high school day at the convention center u know get kids interested in SWAC skools...Show them what the SWAC skools are about..Have a stepshow or BOTBs like The Bayou Classic get people in the seats talking bout the SWAC..I want a commisioner who wants to compete with non HBCU skools and isnt jus satisfied with the same stat quo...maybe I am wrong and a lil ambitious for thinking the SWAC can do better that what has been going on...it jus seems to me that things are done on a smalltime level and that we need to stop thinking negative and start striving for acheivement as a conference...:lecture:

I pitched some of those ideas last year. I think if the conference is not going participate in the FCS playoffs, the SWAC title game should be built up and have activities for fans like a major bowl game or the Super Bowl.

Exactly. Kerr got the scoreboard(biggest in FCS when it was built) built without SU spending a penny(sponsership), the pressbox was built, a new playing SUrface @ Mumford, Lee Hines Grandstand built, FG Clark activity center renovated, and the softball field built. Under his watch SU also sold 10,000 season tickets one year, got laptops for athletes to take on road trips, and won the Commish CUp every year he was @ SU. Also any one remember going into Sam's wholesale a couple of years ago ,and on all the TV's there were highlights of SU's football team playing across the country. At first I thought it was just in Baton Rouge, but when I saw it in Atlanta I was shocked. Kerr would make a great commish. He finished in the top 50 in Sports Illustrated 100 most influential Blacks in sports while he was the AD @ SU. During his tenure SU was rated the #124 best athletic program in the country by Sport Illustrated, ahead of some big time schools. The were only two other HBCU's ranked (Famu 180's and Hampton 160's).

P.S. I forgot to mention he started the Jagathon for athletics. Our dumb azz former Chancellor, who was one of the ones who ran Kerr off, ended it. Kerr also increase corporate sales by more than 1,000 percent @ SU.
