Exactly. Kerr got the scoreboard(biggest in FCS when it was built) built without SU spending a penny(sponsership), the pressbox was built, a new playing SUrface @ Mumford, Lee Hines Grandstand built, FG Clark activity center renovated, and the softball field built. Under his watch SU also sold 10,000 season tickets one year, got laptops for athletes to take on road trips, and won the Commish CUp every year he was @ SU. Also any one remember going into Sam's wholesale a couple of years ago ,and on all the TV's there were highlights of SU's football team playing across the country. At first I thought it was just in Baton Rouge, but when I saw it in Atlanta I was shocked. Kerr would make a great commish. He finished in the top 50 in Sports Illustrated 100 most influential Blacks in sports while he was the AD @ SU. During his tenure SU was rated the #124 best athletic program in the country by Sport Illustrated, ahead of some big time schools. The were only two other HBCU's ranked (Famu 180's and Hampton 160's).

P.S. I forgot to mention he started the Jagathon for athletics. Our dumb azz former Chancellor, who was one of the ones who ran Kerr off, ended it. Kerr also increase corporate sales by more than 1,000 percent @ SU.

You'll are giving Kerr to much credit while those things happen during Kerr adminstration most of them we're already happening when Floyd arrived. The new playing surface was the result of the board of Sups and a SU alum who VP at The Shaw group. The baseball GrandStand was already on the books when Floyd got to SU. AS far season tickets they actually started to decline under Kerr check the stats. Kerr also didn't get the money for the score board Daktronics did that how they sale their products. You can check this info out if you'd like. BTW Kerr wanted to hire Mike Grant at Morgan St. He was forced to hire Todd Bozeman by the Pres.

I hope they dont try to bring somebody in from within the conference because we will end up in the same situation with the same results! We a commisioner with a vision!!!!!!:lecture:

It won't matter who you bring in the 10 schools are not going to invest in what it takes to have a great conference. Many of us hold the Commissioner accountable, when in fact he works for the Council of Presidents. How much can a person get done when several schools work independent of the SWAC Office. I am sure there is enough blame to go around, but when everyone is trying to take care of own school they are not going to give the support that is necessary to make the SWAC better. We change personnel too much to have continuity. We put a lot of effort in our program with a lot of support, then we have people who destroy everything you work tireless to build because they don't have a clue about what it takes to build a good program. It is not difficult to spot those who are supporters of programs and those who buy a ticket every now and then.

Amen!

Well, Well, Well.
This is a thread in itself.

Where are all those "whatever we getting, it's all good" poster's that was all in my arse about showing the financial breakdown on the SCG and other SWAC event's.
CLASSICS that are supposed to be so good for every school.

WHERE YOU AT NOW!!!!! :lol:

OH well. :lol:

Blind Faith will get that booty taken

According to some folk Kerr walked on water too. Glad you can see through all of that. The Jagthon was going on with Casem.
Kerr was a yes man that had great oracular skills, not going to dispute that the department was successful under his watch, but love him or hate him, the Godfather laid the foundation for Kerr. Even Brenda Edmond presided over the first SCG win.
Back to the SWAC office.
Questions of concern.
The three persons fired, how well were they performing their duties. (if they were doing so well, then why are we complaining so much about the office)
What evidence do we have to back up this duer-gate stuff?
If the duer-gate stuff is indeed true, what is it going to take for us to get this guy out and get some true leadership into the office and put this conference on the road where it needs to be. Just as players said, I'm not expecting too much to be done.:shame:

pti......

but I can see a SOGGY vs Duer knock down, drag out in the VERY near future. It may even rival the Rudy vs GR fight.
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I don't know though Panthro. Ole SOGGY came out swinging. And he promises he got some more too. ole Duer is on the ropes already. Can he recover????? :scared:

not to make light of the situation (cause it's shameful, if true), but, to make light of the situation......:D

I think I'm gon put my money on SOGGY. That kid has learned a lot from me. :lol:

Yeh, G came out throwing haymakers and got Duer on the ropes. That was a HUGE bombshell to report, considering the amount of traffic this site receives daily. :read:

If I'd known all it took was for G to get krunked up in order for us to relieve ourselves of a SWAC commish, I would've implied he'd done this quite a while ago. G has taken it upon himself to help rid the SWAC of "dead weight." lol

I'm not going to take side here, but since Kerr left we haven't won the Commissioner Cup, haven't won a championship in a major sport, a few years we had 0 championships, and asfar as the season ticket sale, I think the increase in cost have more to do with that than anything.

All that time ole SOG spent in BHAM after that SCG lost had him sneaking around the SWAC office. Now we know why he stayed inside that tent so long. :emlaugh:
