Correction: Small signed FOUR first team all state O-linemen, not three

bornthrilla

Proud ***** of JSU
I just realized that Drew Carter, our star recruit from Ohio was named first team all state at the O-line position as well.

http://www.ohsaa.org/sports/ft/boys/2003/allohio03.htm

However, since we already have a fab five o-line crop coming in, he is projected to play on the D-line for us.

Sorry about the overlook. Please update our first team all state list to four O-linemen, not three.

I can see it now...

"They dont know how to play football in Ohio"

"Ohio had a down year in recruiting this year"

"The Associated Press All-Ohio team is a bunch of BS.....you need to see the Clarion-Ledger All-Ohio team!"

:lmao:

:lmao:

:lmao:

Congrats!!!

Keep the updates coming. We live for AT&T recruiting news. It makes TSP and our world function.

"The Associated Press All-Ohio team is a bunch of BS.....you need to see the Clarion-Ledger All-Ohio team!"

Classic! LOL!

Remember that first team all state guys are not even on JSU's radar screen.

LMAO @ BT with a chip on his shoulder....but I'm still waiting on the Big Boys that you say wanted your boys so bad!

Dude, you need to go back to the beginning and read. I said that some of our players were first team all state and were coveted by the big boys. I said nothing about any scholarship offers because that info is not always readily available. You just assumed that they weren't offered (which you had no proof) so I showed you that at least two of our players had offers and the others got heavy interest. You started another debate refuting that they even got heavy interest (which you again had no proof), so me and Brandmaster had to provide links to show you that you were AGAIN wrong.

OK, so ECU is your only big boy school and you have yet to show any proof/ documents that suggested that that DB had an offer from UM.....the fact that he was a UM recruit (for whatever that's worth) is what you are trying to sell me on. And you say these guys got heavy interest, but I know otherwise, and you've done nothing to discount that. Stop fooling yourself. You outrecruited hardly anyone for these boys. Not even I-AA schools. And now you're saying that info. was not 'readily available'. When you asked for info. about JSU I had it right there waiting. Is it that no one cares about who A&T brings in but A&T? I know there's something somewhere. Feel free to say you were just blowing smoke (like I know you are) and we'll leave it at that.

Then he says that all of A&T players fell azz backward to us and I proved to him that at least two of our guys had offers from ECU and Michigan. Then he says one of his players were recruited by South Carolina but the bio of the players he posted doesn't mention South Carolina anywhere.

Again, still waiting for that UM proof. This is getting sad, dude......You'd ask for proof and I gave it to you and now you're hanging on to any piece of misinfo. as possible.:shame: You want to see South Carolina, well here it is:
www.clarionledger.com/news/0401/09/r0109d.html
And until you can show he was offered by UM, don't bring that up anymore. All you have shown me was All-State lists, but since that is how you plan on vouching for Smalls' recruiting prowess, then I'll leave it at that. It's a large class you got and all you can hang your hat on is one player who had an offer?

The problem is he originally tried to downplay our class but now he secretly realizes how stupid it is to downplay first team all state players especially guys who made first team all state two years in a row. Then he tries to act like that Ap all state list was fraud because NC suppossedly had a down year in football this season. He fails to mention that many players on the NC all state list signed with majority universites and the NC Shrine Bowl team whipped the SC Shrine Bowl team and that he personally has never watched a down of NC high school football this year or done research on any of our players. He assumes it was a down year because Small nabbed three first team all state players.

:lmao: SUICIDE WATCH!! :lmao:
If you keep this up, they'll be pulling out the white jackets for you. If all you want to look at is All-Staters, then look at this: www.clarionledger.com/news/0312/18/rmac.html
And I could really care less about who played in a Shrine Bowl. I can say the same about your knowledge of MS High school football, but the difference is that I don't care what you think about MS Football. All I know is that it is very little, and any info. you have comes from Rivals, and you can't even understand the info. they give. Nor do I care what you think of JSU or JSU's recruits. I know we have quality and coveted players. You've seen it, so I needn't say anything else to you on the matter.

He is just talking to be arguementative and has no facts or proof to support his claims.

Ummm, what claims have I made that I didn't support?

Once again, this is a perfect example of JST 06 changing the debate mid-arguement. You orignally said one of your players were coveted by South Carolina. However, the link you post only has USC listed as one of his personal "college choices".

That just mean that this one of the schools that he personally wouldn't mind playing for. JSu was not even listed in that list which show you that none of the schools he wanted offered to him or even heavily recruited him for that matter, so he was stuck with JSu, his only opportunity. Isn't that the same line of reasoning you used when I showed you our guy got interest from Miami and others? You can't have it both ways to support your arugment now. Please tell me how your list proves that South Carolina coveted or even heavily recruited your player, but the links I show about my players don't. Once again you are just using whatever you think is convient at the moment to prove your dumb points.

BTW: You need to learn the difference between first team all state and second team all state. That is a pretty big gap. I made these post because AP first team all state is a very pretigous honor and is desintated to show the best of the best from that particular state. If I was concerned with second team all state I could have listed many others.

Lastly, If you can't read or comprehend a news article that says that UM wanted our Db to go to a JUCO one year before he played for them, then that is just your problem. I can't explain the obvious to fools who chose to be over-cycnical. Sorry.

Once again, I read those old-arse articles about your boys. The Miami's and Va. Tech's of the world just had those players in their databases and nothing more. They weren't seriously recruiting them as the season progressed. After the Jr. season, of course they'll send a lot of letters out- they're covering they're bases. As for William Davis: you asked for So. Car. and I gave it to you. But the fact still remains that you have not shown anyone who had offers, except one from ECU and a guy who may have had an offer from UM. You still haven't shown me who you all beat out....but I forgot.....that info. is not readily available. Who is being coveted? Who wanted to go to A&T so bad that they turned down BCS Conference schools? BTW the UM 'recruit' isn't in the Rivals database, since you put so much stock into Internet recruiting services that you don't have full access to.

BTW: You need to learn the difference between first team all state and second team all state. That is a pretty big gap. I made these post because AP first team all state is a very pretigous honor and is desintated to show the best of the best from that particular state. I knew you would be feeble-minded enough to bring that up. You need to learn that All-State is nothing but a post season accolade. It does nothing to indicate a player's potential on the next level. It's just a postseason award, like the Heisman- and we know how most of those guys fare on the next level.

Actually, on that 2nd-team list along with OG Andrew Smith is WR Tony Burks who signed w/ Ole Miss and played in the Army All-American game. He was one of the most sought after WR's this year. Also on that 2nd-Team is RB Marcus Griffin, who is among the top Jr.'s in the nation. Look it all up. 1st-Team LB Heath Grant signed with D2 Delta State.

JSU signee Justin Magee (RB) was a 1st-Team All-State in the Clarion-Ledger so are you ready to proclaim him the next Walter Payton (like what you're doing with your guys) or are you going to downplay him? (thanks, again)

Ummm, support this claim. How do you "know otherwise"? What facts do you have that prove our DB wasn't really recruited by Michigan? Or that our latest OL recruit wasnt recruited by NCSU (both top 25 programs last season)?

Let's have it. Support your claims. (I think we are about to hear crickets...)

See this is why you are an azz clown and a horrible debater. You reach for some many different arguments that you don't realize when you are putting your own foot in your mouth.

For instance, let's take your running back, Justin Magee.

If your running back was first team all state like you claim I would think that he was pretty good and that somebody who follows football in MS thought he was one of the best players in the state. I do not have to be a hater like you. Without knowing anything about the kid, I would say that was a pretty good pickup by Bell since he is trying to run a smashmouth offense now.

However, I am sure you also noticed that the Clarion Ledger reported that he i probably gonna be academically inedlible for next season. He did not make the test scores. That is why the big boys backed off of him and so his only choice was to sign with the lowly, 2-10, getting beat by A&t evry dayum year, JSU. I see you failed to mentioned that. You did not beat out anyone for him. I guess you could say he came to you azz backwards just like you claim our first team all-state O-linemen who was recrutied by NCSU fell to us. That is liek the pot calling the ketle black.

The difference is our guy actually made the test scores and will be eligble this year. Unlike you, we signed a first team all state player and he does not have to be a prop. He can come in a contribute immediately.

Next time, if you are gonna cast stones to make your point, make sure your own 2-10 house is not glass.

[/I]

First get your facts together. I never said dude wasn't recruited by Michigan. I simply asked for info. that suggested that he was offered by UM, but I guess that's more information that is also not readily available.

.......and you wonder why I tell you to get a clue.

This is how I know you were bluffing the whole time. You didn't know about guys picking us over UMass, Ea. Michigan and others, but you knew Magee was a prop.........interesting. So you did catch that edition of the C-L, huh? Magee will be a Prop, and at 160 lbs., he would have redshirted, anyway. We don't need him to contribute next year.

But you missed the point I was making (as I expected). Magee is a small back, and not many I-A schools are going to sign a guy like him........meaning he's not as attractive a recruit as say, a Brandon Jackson (Nebraska signee), who was C-L 2nd team but goes 6-0, 220. But being that Magee had the better season, he was worthy of 1st Team honors. Even if he had a 4.0, he would not have garnered any more attention from the premiere I-A programs.

What I'm telling you is that All-State don't mean a damn thing. I'm sorry you were not sharp enough to pick up on the sarcasm in the Justin Magee story I posted. I shouldn't underestimate your idiocy. My bad. And the only other offer I know of that he had was from Delta State, who beat out a host I-AA schools for recruits this past season. As you can see, I'm honest about mine. If you wanted proof, I could probably find it. Can I say the same about you? NO!

Call me a hater all you'd like, but I'm just one of the few that see thru the "All-State-this, All-State-that" mumbo jumbo.

Without knowing anything about the kid, I would say that was a pretty good pickup by Bell since he is trying to run a smashmouth offense now.

Yeah, right. Don't make me pull threads, man.

At running back you got that JUCO stud ...and then two smurf sized guys who are skinner than me. Please tell me how you are gonna play smash mouth football with a running back who is 5'8 160 and another injury prone back who is 5'10 180. Those two are scat backs or DBs if anything. If Hayes goes down you are back to square one.

http://www.swacpage.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=36730&page=5

And like Brandmaster said, you have no proof or info whatsoever about who was offered a scholarship or not. The only info you have about any JSU players being offered scholarships is what was printed in that ONE bio article. And that only showed where two players chose JSu over 1-AA schools, not top 25 1-A programs like you alledged.

Why do you not have more info? Because that info is not always readily available. If Mark Alexander didn't include the offers received by those two players you wouldn't have any info. Then If I asked you to prove your offers you wouldn' be ablt to say anything. You only have ONE article that only mentions two of your players having other offers. Our local reporter chose not to include what schools our recruits passed on, so we don't have all that info. Beating out 1-AA schools is no big deal. If that was the originally arugment I could have easily printed news articles like this to support my case:

Linebacker Tim Shropshire, who teamed with lineman Kevin Bradley to give the Falcons a physical one-two punch on defense last season, has accepted a scholarship offer to play for N.C. A&T.

Shropshire chose the NCAA Division I-AA program over an offer from Western Carolina.

http://www.fayettevillenc.com/story.php?Template=recruiting&Story=6144278

However, my original statement was that we recruited three first team all state linemen (make that four) who were coveted by the bigs boys. For some reason you had a problem with that and called me a liar. Remember coveted does not automatically mean offered. Coveted means "to want something badly."

This article clearly says that NCSU and other local ACC schools coveted Ron Foxx. They wanted him bad at one point.

It's hard for someone with Foxx's physical tools to slip under the radar screen, and he didn't.

The hefty lefty made All-State teams, played with distinction in the Shrine Bowl and will play in this summer's East-West All-Star Game.

Big-time schools like North Carolina State were in the hunt for Foxx, but he hadn't fully qualified when national signing day rolled around a few weeks ago.

This article show were Montaze Mcrae was coveted by Clemson:

McRae likes the Tigers
Richard Turner
TigerIllustrated.com

Montaze McRae (OL 6-4, 285, 5.2) of Raeford, NC is another top prospect from the Tar Heel State Clemson quarterbacks coach Mike O'Cain is after.

This article shows that ECU coveted Juan Williams:

Juan Williams, OL (6-3, 291, 5.1) Garner HS, Garner — Williams is a powerful blocker who manhandles defensive linemen. A two-year starter at offensive tackle for Garner, Williams gained his first Division I offer from East Carolina last week.

Here is another that shows other 1-A teams were after Williams:

Williams may commit early

Cris Ard
TigerIllustrated.com

Juan Williams (OL 6-2, 292, 5.1) of Garner, NC is picking up interest from several division I-A programs, most of which are from the ACC.

Here is an article that shows he was rated one of the 50 players in NC and one of the three best offensive linemen.

http://www.northcarolina.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?ra_key=495&Year=2004

BTW: We have behind the scenes info on players and the schools who offered them scholarships, (some of our private forum members have talked to the coaches at A&T and the high school coaches of the players themselves) but that info does not appear in news articles. . That is up to the reporters if they choose to include those tidbits. Sometimes they don't, but you can't ASSUMe that means they didn't have offers.

The bottom line is that Small went out and assembled probably the best O-line crop in all of BCF. These guys have a plethora of honors and got a lot of attention. You choose to think otherwise but have yet to provide any proof to support that theroy. All you ask for is to show where they got soild offers from 1-A schools which you know is not readily available info. You yourself can only show other 1-AA offers for only two of your players. That's why that whole "offer" question is dumb.

BTW: I just went back and read about Mcgee after YOU posted the bio article from that same news page. Did you forget that? I didn't bother to read about his weight when I said that it SOUNDED like a good pickup for Bell.

Without knowing anything about the kid...

I was refferring to the fact that you claimed Bell signed a first team all state RB. I had no idea that he was the 160 pound guy.

Hell, I'm sorry if you feel he is a skinny scrub who would not even be a backup if he was eligible. That is a sad commentary. Maybe that's why he doesn't appear in any recruiting services. All my first teamers do.

Your guys might be overrated but I just know my first team all state O-linemen are legit. They are eligible and can contribute immediately. You yourself say your first teamers are props who would not even crack your 2-10 lineup if they were 4.0 students, mine are not.

Once again, you make yourself look silly.

j-state_tiger06 said:

Don't dodge the question. You would make a horrible politician, BTW.

You know otherwise that "these guys" got no heavy interest. Where's your proof of that, son?

Yall are too in depth with me.
NCAT&T linemen recruits:

6 1 380lbs
5 10 240lbs

I don't have to read all of this ish but the bottom line is that Thrills always brags on top notch recruits vs JSU but head to head JSU runs up 700 yards of offense and holds their offense to 0 TD's. So all of this is useless. Had Hughes not been the coach, we would not be worrying about Thrills.

Dayum YOU HUGHES!!

Hell, I'm sorry if you feel he is a skinny scrub who would not even be a backup if he was eligible. That is a sad commentary. Maybe that's why he doesn't appear in any recruiting services. All my first teamers do.
But your UM recruit isn't on any recruiting services. Does that make him a scrub? Just asking. We are deep at RB next year. That's why Magee wouldn't start next year. You already pointed out that the JUCO RB looks legit, so why would it make sense for us to play him next year?

Your guys might be overrated but I just know my first team all state O-linemen are legit. They are eligible and can contribute immediately. You yourself say your first teamers are props who would not even crack your 2-10 lineup if they were 4.0 students, mine are not.
Once again, you make yourself look silly.
You just made yourself look silly when you start telling me what you discuss in your private forum. If I took what I knew off the record and posted it on here, I'd have a wealth of info. for you. But it's just that......off the record, so I'm going with what has been documented. You asked for info. and I put it out there. The only thing that is overrated here is "All-State", but if you like it, I luv it.
I've seen JSU's signees on film and I've seen what they can do. I don't have to hang my hat on recruiting services (which many appeared or have appeared in) or All-State honors (which many have received).

bornthrilla said:
BTW: Just in case you try to overlook this, let me post it again. This is an article which rates Juan Williams as one of the 50 best players in the state of NC and the third best O-linemen:

But, I'm sure you'll try to find some way to downgrade that and say that he was a scrub who fell azz backward to A&T.

I already addressed that:

The fact that they are on Rivals don't mean nothing to me, man. I'm not that gullable. If you look at your boy Juan Williams, you'd see his last article was back in July of 2003, before the season even started, which means his stock plummeted throughout the season. Rivals didn't even get back with him. I'm not saying he was a bad sign. All I'm saying is that the nonsense you post over here don't fly with me. Post as many links as you'd like. They ain't saying a dayum thang.

Congratulations for beating out UCONN. I know they compete with the best of them and just won the National Title.......OOPS! That's basketball! So these are the big boys you speak of? And being #3 ain't saying much when the top two signed with Duke and Tulsa.

JSt 06, why do you have to make up things to strengthen your lame arguments? I know you are just a lowly azz clown who is horrible at football debates, but why do you have to be a liar too?

I came on this board just to inform you and everyone else that Small went out and recruited four first team all state O-linemen. Quite an outstanding feat if you asked me. I also said that there was a big difference between first team and second team all state. You got jealous over that (for some reason) and tried to downplay our accomplishments by saying that Bell recruited a first team player also:

JSU signee Justin Magee (RB) was a 1st-Team All-State in the Clarion-Ledger so are you ready to proclaim him the next Walter Payton (like what you're doing with your guys) or are you going to downplay him? (thanks, again)

being that Magee had the better season, he was worthy of 1st Team honors.

However, when I went back and looked at the article in the Ledger you yourself posted, I found this interesting tidbit:

December 18, 2003

http://www.clarionledger.com/news/0312/18/rmac.html

Dude, that is simply shameful. You are over here wasting everyone's time and energy with these needless lies and made up honors. All in a feeble attempt to save face. I try to take your word as bond and have a intelligent discussion with you and look what happens. You are suppossed to be soooooo informed about HS football but then when things get rough, you suddenly have to start inventing honors for your players just to make JSu look better and your points appear stronger.

BTW: You also lied about this:

Magee is a small back, and not many I-A schools are going to sign a guy like him........meaning he's not as attractive a recruit as say, a Brandon Jackson (Nebraska signee), who was C-L 2nd team but goes 6-0, 220.

I looked this up too and found that actually the Ledger had Brandon Jackson as first team all state, not second like you said. LOL!

What an azz clown.

So I guess the experts did get it right this time, huh 06? I guess that first team all-state honor desinates a player who is the best of the best in this situation, huh 06? That would mean, that maybe our first team all state guys are legit too, huh 06?

Damn. You are so desparate to make a lame point that you would even try to lie about this kid's hard-earned post season accolade, and downgarde him to second team status. All the while, you go around and tell people that your signee was first team. Talk about being a hater.

Seriously dude, how can you even look yourself in the mirror?

Hey 06, go ahead and post "uh, ya see... uhh, what I meant was...my bad...uhhh, but my point still remains that..." over here------->

Your lying azz has just lost all credibility.

BTW: Next time you decided to make up some phony honor for your players and downgarde another guiys honors it might be a good idea not to include a link that has the accurate information. Azz clown.

C'mon, dude! Why would I lie:
Clarion-Ledger All-State 1st Team

There's a difference: The Miss. Assoc. of Coaches and The Clarion-Ledger All-State teams. The MAC does it class-by-class while the C-L's is comprehensive. Notice who the 1st Team guy is. I don't have to lie, and once again, I don't put that much stock into who's All-State and who's not.

However, Nebraska signee Brandon Jackson is 2nd Team. Also running 2nd Team with him is RB Mike McLaughlin who signed w/ Auburn. So much for that "gap", huh? The other 1st Team RB's are Griffin (junior) and Ken Cox (JUCO).

What you were looking at is the MAC All-State team. The Clarion-Ledger (AP) has him running first team.

Read for comprehension:
