Broussard to recommend hiring of Dawson Odums

I dont know if he can assemble a good staff. He has never done it before. He will probably go with what he has and plug in coaches where necessary. Im sure he is not going to gut the coaching staff and go in a different direction.

He will not gut the entire staff. But I do believe he will bring in a new DC now that he is Head Coach and fill some position coaches with his own folks. He has more money to spend on coaches than Stump did due to him agreeing to a lower salary. I imagine the OC will be Chad Germany since it was Odums who made him the OC after Stump got fired. But I can see OL, WR, RB, LB, etc coaches being changed to folks he is comfortable with. Odums himself was one of the last coaches added to the staff by Stump so he has no loyalty to these guys so to speak.

I think he actually wants to manage the game from a Head Coach standpoint and not micro manage the offense or defense. We will see who he puts in place. So no wholesale changes. But he did say he will be making some coaching changes. Some of those guys may want to leave since they were Stump hires in the first place.

If he chooses not to go in a different direction, does this mean he'll be going in the same direction Stump was going?:emlaugh: Seems like it.

I don't have too much confidence in obese head coaches. They usually don't win.

This is even a WORSE hire than I first thought. No head coaching experience. No staff. No knowledge of how to recruit from a head coach's standpoint. No experience in calling an offense. No managerial experience from a head coaching standpoint. No history of being on a winning program on the college level. No nothing. The guy brings absolutely nothing to the table.

And this Broussard guy is supposed to be the best AD you've had for some time?! At least Stump had SOME head coaching experience. This Odumbs guy is a newborn baby when it comes to head coaching experience.

This seems to be an experiment by Broussard. This is not what SU needs. You guys have suffered enough (I think).
You need someone who will come in and win immediately like Pete did.
Odumbs doesn't seem to be the man who can do it, neither does he have the credentials to do it.
All I can say is......Po SU.:smh:

Dude was hired back on Friday and here some people are on Tuesday and 9 pages later worrying about the staff he may bring togehter. Damn sure looks like SU is very relevant.

Nothing else to do right now but laugh at the coaching hire. Doesn't make your program relevant, it makes it the butt of many jokes for at least the next two years. Po SU. Let me stop.

LOL. Casem won. Big Daddy won, you got some. I am sure you do not want me to say Comegy. But he has won more than he has lost and has some hardware to show for it.

Why are you making stuff up. Odums has head coaching experience. LOL. Why does the Head Coach have to call an offense? Seems to me if you are a DC or defensive coach, you don't call offense. Pete never called offensive plays. He was a defensive coach his whole career. You do realize Odums has something that none of our SWAC coaches have? He was actually a coach on a FCS/1-AA Championship team at Ga Southern.

Jayrob, you are reaching. Hell Odums got experience this year coaching in 9 games as head coach. So he knows what to expect SWAC wise. You are just choosing to read into this the way you want to. So be it. Put it this way. Odums figured out a way to beat your coach is all you need to know. LOL. So much for experience.

So where is the press conference? Anybody upload it to YouTube.
Come on SU folks...give up the goods
I gotta hear this guy before I condemn him.

It was on earlier I think. You might have to go to our website to see it again. I heard he was pretty good.
