Breaking down the 2007 NFL draft
Handing out grades for an NFL Draft immediately after it's completed seems a bit premature; like being told what kind of high school student you'll be while still in diapers. But we can talk value, and we can talk winners and losers. Let's dig right in:
Five best drafts
1. Atlanta: I loved what Atlanta did on Day 1 and thought they picked up a lot of depth on Day 2. In Jamaal Anderson, Justin Blalock, and Chris Houston, the Dirty Birds got three projected first-round picks. Some mock drafts had Houston, a star cornerback at Arkansas, going as early as No. 20 to the Giants. Atlanta got him at 41. Laurent Robinson, the wide receiver out of Illinois State that they took at 75, is arguably the most intriguing small school product in the entire draft. Auburn cornerback David Irons, Kenny's twin brother, will be a special player at the next level as well.
