But Griffey didn't... A Rod will break Barry's though.
Yeah, Congrats to Barry Bonds!
Now, here are two things that burned me up.
1. Bud's reaction - why did he even show up?...:kaioken:
2. Dude that caught the ball - he was sitting with the group that had the asterisk signs; if they despise Bonds so much, why not throw the ball back?...:kaioken:
You can't compare Aaron and Bonds in terms of how they were treated by the general public.
1. People hated Aaron because he was a black man breaking a white man's record.
2. People dislike Bonds because he used performance enhancing drugs, and he is a very surly character.
Boy please tell me you are not actually believing that?

Something Hall of Famer Joe Morgan said last week makes alot of sense to me. He said alot of folks that are jumping on the Aaron bandwagon and lauding him for what he went through are just doing it because they don't like Barry, not because they REALLY like Aaron. He was like all the years Aaron played and for how long he had the record, they should have BEEN acknowledging Aaron for his struggle, instead of doing it now to pit him against Bonds because Bonds doesn't have a friendly relationship with them.
If I was bud, I'd just tell it like it is. First, I, Bud, was asleep at the wheel when steroids really took off in baseball. That's my fault. As for Barry, it really bites when cheaters get ahead in the world. Barrys name maybe in the record book as the all time homerun leader, but as far as I'm concerned the champion for all ages in henry aaron.
don't talk about the other people suspected of using steroids and how they got off. "when I ask you about you, don't tell me about jimmy!" If Barry were white, yall would have no love for him and admit he's a cheater and a phoney. And if that's not the case why do u still talk about mark mcguire, who wasn't involved in a criminal investigation? He was great b/f he took roids but let his ego get the best of him, lost any intergrity he had as it relates to baseball, and cheated.
As for what u think hank aaron owes barry bonds, i'll only give u this. hank owes barry a congrats and a pat on the back only if barry owed hank the courtesy of playing the game with integrity and within the rules.
Wheres your proof that Barry cheated??? Please share it with me so I'll be enlightened. He's never failed a test, his trainers denied giving him anything (and yet they gave up a whole slew of other professional athletes). I don't wanna hear what you "THINK" happened. We know Palmero used, we know Mcgwire used, we know Canseco used, but we don't know if Sammy used steroids and we don't know if Bonds used. Point blank......if you tell me anything else then you're assuming.
When is more important than whether he used steroids. Until 2002, there was no major league policy against steroids OR juiced baseballs.
Maybe the ball he hit outta the park yesterday was juiced. Does that ball need to be checked?
Maybe the major leagues needs to be investigated for intentionally juicing the balls.

1. No such thing as a "juiced ball." The baseballs were wound up more tighter which made the ball harder, and the seams on the ball lowered which made it difficult for pitchers to grip. Basically, the hitters were swatting large golf balls. The teams don't handle the balls during the games. The umpires inspect and rub up about 70 dozen ball a game. If the ball were juiced are altered, MLB would have to investigate itself and whoever does the maufacturing.
2. I really don't care that Barry Bonds cheated because there were a bunch of other guys that cheated, too. What I am disappointed in is that Bonds cheated and he has yet to admit it. " I took the "Cream," but I thought it was Flaxseed oil for my knee. I did not know what it was." LOL. Can he read? Did he not care what he was putting into his body?
3. McGwire never admitted he cheated. Fans only assume he did because he did not say so in front of Congress. But we all know he did. Same with Sosa, too. "Habla no English."
4. Baseball did not start testing for drugs until 2003 as part of a survey. Then it was found that 5 percent of players were on the stuff. 2004 that's when the official testing began.
5. Baseball does not do IOC-style blood testing because the players' union will not go for that. Why? too much money at stake.
6. MLB does not test for HGH(which could be a contributing factor in such quick muscle growth for Bonds and others over a short period of time late in his career).

Lance Williams, Mark Fainaru-Wada, Chronicle Staff WritersNow you're making up stuff. Barry said he was given rubbing balm and flaxseed oil. He did not say he didn't know what it was.
McGwire knowingly took Andro which is a steriod (look it up) after the public found out they slapped McGwire on the hand and told him not to do it anymore then it was added to the banned substance list. Canseco said that he has personally injected roids into Mcgwire.......nuff said.
And in the case of Sammy Sosa, refer to Bonds. There is no proof other than "Habla no English." Anybody who has ever heard Sosa speak before knows he doesn't speak english that good. Bringing his lawyer to speak for him was smart.
