Banks granted permission to speak with Texas A&M

Didn't he get a new deal last year?

Just asking.......

The Advocate said:
Neither side would divulge all the details, which will be presented to the SU Board of Supervisors for approval at its May meeting. Llorens said it was a two-year extension of Banks’ current deal, which he signed 11 months ago. That deal has four years remaining with a base salary of $165,000, incentives that can raise the income to more than $200,000 and no buyout.

I'm guessing he will get another bump in pay and other concessions, but Southern has to put a buyout clause in there to protect themselves. But the two added years means if Banks sticks around, he'll be the head coach until the 2019-2020 season

Glad Banks is staying.

Like I said earlier in this thread, we need good strong coaches in the conference.

The SWAC definitely needs more forward thinking people like yourself in the entire conference.
