Here are the performances that I will never forget.
1.Prairie View (The Storm) 1989--in Little Rock. As a former band member me and some other ole school UAPB members watch this inspiring performance by Praire View. We all agreed that this was tops. The Storm dance routine was to one of Uncle Ricky's tracks.
2.Southern University(The JukeBox)1974- Pine Bluff--Southern came out from the North endzone performing Stevie Wonder's "YOU AIN'T DONE NOTHING" The slow song they played in concert band formation was Blue Magic's 'SIDESHOW'. The dance routine was performed to one of Kool & The Gang's songs. And end of the song the band put their horns down on the field and they did the Bump with no music,and no drums to keep the beat.Beautiful.
3. UAPB (M4)-1980--Homecoming- Well I did not watch it, I was performing
I can't remember the drill song but our dance rountine had people standing up in the stands cheering each time we would go into another dance step. Our dance routine song was "FIRECRACKER". The noise from the crowd was like from an ocean.
4.FAMU--1984-Jacksonville Fl. against Troy State.---The drill was real tight the dance routine was to Shelia E's "Glamourous Life"-- too cold.
5. Jackson State-1978--JSU's Homecoming--(43,000 hostile fans lol). Watched it from the sidelines after we got through dancing to some gotdayum "BRASS TAX' :smh:. This one of the best performances I seen JSU do. The Sonic Boom danced to a medley of the top ten fast songs that year. I never will forget my fellow MAD DRUMMERS INC. comrade "Little Tony" saying while we were kneeling on the sidelines watching The Boom get off--"Man we need to pack our sh!t and go home" :lol:.
6. UAPB--1993-Little Rock--Kevin Washington was the band director.The M4's band performance was flawless.The dance routine looked as though you were watching a reflection of one person in over 100 mirrors;the moves were just that much in unison.(Philharmonic.. I need the tape of that show)
7. Memphis Booker T. Washington--UAPB Homecoming parade 1972.It was my first year in junior high. All I have to say..they were coldblooded. They were doing sh!t that was 25 years ahead their time..I swear. Every high school and junior high band in the parade followed them down the street;they were at the end of the parade because a years before people followed them down the street before the parade was over with :lol:.
(Here is a photo of them
)

8. AM&N(UAPB)--1971--After all of their halftimes, after they finished performing they had a routine going back into stands that was a traffic stopper.
9. Paxon High School--1984--Jacksonville, Florida. These youngbloods were creative and original they did a"Tribute To The Stars" of that year,like Prince,Stevie Wonder,The Time etc. Each song they played from one of the stars they immitated the signature dance moves of those artist. Nice.
