Seems like someone was transferring money from the student aid to their own personal accounts. If this is found to be true then Alabama St. could be putting their accreditaton on the line. Remember Morris Brown got theirs revolted for using students financial aid to pay faculty payroll.

“There has been at worst fraud and at best a failure of personnel to track resources in People Soft (ASU’s accounting software),†Silver wrote to Dean on Nov. 17. “This issue is that a rather large sum of money in the form of student refunds that have gone to students’ checking account have been diverted to some other personal accounts.

“Even though (executive vice-president John) Knight and (vice-president for business and finance Freddie) Gallot had knowledge of this, it was not shared with me nor the board.â€

Knight said Wednesday that no one informed Silver because “we just didn’t think about it.â€

There goes that name again...."Knight". This guy seems to have more power than the actual President. He didn't inform the President about fraud that involved outside authorities because he didn't think about it? He could've come up with something better than this.
Even though the stolen funds were covered by insurance, I wonder where it was going and to whose account? Perhaps this is why they got rid of Silver. It had to be something pretty serious to freely give up 685,000 dollars to Silver for only two months worth of work.

That article also said they turned the investigation over to law enforcement and it's proceeding as a criminal investigation. I don't think the school wad trying to hide the fact that their computers were hacked and money stolen. Now whoever stole the money is trying to hide it but they could h anywhere.

Advertiser has posted what they learned from internal emails. Silver got into a petty argument with knight and Kennedy about a car for the parade. Grown folks should be able to work things out. This incident didn't have to go down this path.

The paper also released the 4 charges upheld against Daley. One seems to involve not filing paper work on time for Crowell

Alabama State is a very nice school but they have some crooks running it. This seems like a severe cover-up. Heads need to roll from the top.

Opinions with no evidence to support your position. Silver appears to have been in a power struggle that became personal. By making it personal, Silver and the managers have sullied the good name of the University.
