That's why the QB position is the most important on the field--in sports for that matter.

Look at the Falcons. Granted, Mike Vick was no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but he sure was 10x better than the garbage the Falcons put on the field this season. With Vick not in the lineup, the whole franchise went down the tube.

Plus, I think Jason Garrett was one of the right place at the right time guys. He flourished in a system that had a solid QB, running game and good WRs. All he had to do was call plays. Will Garrett be as good as head coach at a struggling franchise like Atlanta or Baltimore where the talent is lacking in areas?

The NFL is such one big American Idol fest that it is sad in some ways.

Every year there is a "hot" coordinator out there that NFL GMs and owners drool over because they were part of winning organizations. Most of those guys don't even workout. I wish more teams would be like Pittsburgh and hired guys like Mike Tomlin who was not the "hot coach," but had a solid pedigree.

This copycat mentality is the sole reason why the NFL is a little watered down.

I agree for the most part. But Tomlin was the hot coordinator last year. Folks only questioned his youth. He had wowed folks with his interview skills and that was widely known around the NFL. Even when Childress hired him from Tampa..........the media here said they were more impressed with Tomlin than they were with Childress who of course was the hot coordinator the year Minnesota hired him.

IRVING, Texas -- After looking into two coaching jobs, Jason Garrett decided to remain offensive coordinator of the Cowboys after Dallas made him the highest-paid assistant coach in the NFL.

The Cowboys promoted Garrett to assistant head coach and gave him a new contract that will pay him in the ballpark of $3 million per year, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting.

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips' salary is also in the $3 million range. There is no word on whether the team plans to adjust Phillips' salary.

Garrett went through second interviews in Baltimore and Atlanta earlier this week, then returned to Dallas to meet with team owner Jerry Jones.

And this is for somebody with 1 year of OC experience. How sad. Now watch Cowboys tickets are gonna go up. Jerry Jones is uping the price for season pressbox tickets to $220,000 next season. My future Uncle in law said fugg that and canceled his yearly purchase. What a waste of money.

Just wait to see what folks are going to have to pay to be in the new stadium. LOL.

Next year is the last year in the old stadium and to get those similar seats in the new stadium, I'm sure you have to have season tickets in the old. That dayum JJ is going to make more money than probably 3 or 4 NFL franchises combined.

I don't have em. My girlfriend's uncle does. Man I ain't hatin on JJ but daymn!!! He had me laughing because he told me that Drew Pearson (I think it was) said that he can't even afford those Pressbox season passes. :lol::lol:
