Bad news coming out of Greensboro.

TP, who was our QB last year? How many games at that position did he have under his belt before he beat you?

BTW: What was Kent's classification when he started for you clowns? I believe he was a freshman himeslf and all these freshmam we are bringing in are even more highly regarded than he was.

Kent was not even a top 50 player. Burton was Florida State's number one recruit. Glen was second team all-state and was rated the number one senior QB in NC.

Plus don't forget that your defense sucks. If we beat you with a coverted wide receiver in the Dome last year imagine how bad we'll masacre you with one of these blue chippers at that position.

Your best hope is that the JUCO kid keeps the starting job. I would hate to see what would happen if one of these freshman beat him out.

Thrilla, tell me what your beating us in ATL had to do with your QB?? I could have got out there and moved the ball 30 yards.

...and yep, Kent was a Freshman and it took him three games to throw over 100 yards with Guy, Thigpen, Manning, Story and TC to throw to. Your point is???

Thrilla,

Don't stay awake at night wondering what Hayes is going to do. The JUCO kid is going to start for at least half of the season. If he has gone through the Spring with the team, he is already too far ahead of any recruit that Hayes will bring in in August. Basically, I am saying that it is his job to lose and if he loses it to a kid three weeks after that kid has been given a play book, he is :( . If Hayes is smart, he will use that little skinny dude to run the offense until he gets hit by a 250 lb LB. I think the battle in pre-season will be for second string and who gets it might also depend on who qualifies.

I am glad you got some QB's. YOu really needed them. Now if only you all could get your d-line, lb's and WR's up to par. I hope your o-line holds up now that Mitchell is gone.

Thrilla, I really need your team to be good enough to win 7 games. I don't want JSU to lose rankings due to playing your weak arse school.

TP, it's sure is funny how your tone has changed.

First you were saying that we couldn't beat JSU because we don't have a QB and now you're saying we won't beat JSU because of our D-line, linebackers and receivers.

Well for your information we return all but one starter on the d-line and we have the 4th highest rated JUCO d-lineman in the country coming in, plus a transfer from Clemson who sat out last year. We have plenty of depth at that position.

I've already told you we have two first team all-state receiver projected to get ample playing time this year as well as all but one of last year's corp returning. Every single receiver we put on the field this season will be over 6'1 190 lbs.

Linebacker will be our only potential weak spot on defense because we lose two starters. However we have two seniors coming back and a pair of juniors who got a a bunch of PT in 2001. Add in a first team all-stater and this will be an extremely talented unit as well. Already in the Spring Game our linebacker corp garnered rave reviews. However, it was only the Spring Game. I don't put too much stake into that because some of our keys guys on offense didn't play.

So once again, JSu still doesn't have a prayer. We beat you in the Dome, we wil crush you in the Valley.

Thrilla, tell me what your beating us in ATL had to do with your QB?? I could have got out there and moved the ball 30 yards.

My point exactly. We didn't even have a great Qb then and we still scored 42 points. Imagine what we will do to your scrub defense now that we have four blue chippers to choose from.

The end is near.

Thrilla,

Why do you keep harping on your QB in that game when he had not a damn thing to do with any of the point y'all scored. Your offense only scored 21 points. Then you had to run trick plays on two of those drives to get you near the endzone.

You can name all the QBs and WRs or other players and put whatever ranking next to them you want. But you better pray that JSU makes another 8 turnovers and allow a few more blocked punts for TDs. That's your only chance at beating us. And even that might not be enough. Cause you damn sure needed every bit of them miscues in ATL.

Spin it however you wanna. You better pray for a bunch of miscues. Otherwise, y'all ass is trouble.

Yall, I have to admit.

I didnt get any sleep last night because of this announcement. Oooooh lawd.

BT

Talk about tone changes....you went from the best new JUCO QB in the world, to a skinny dude from the west coast. What happened? And you can keep that "free from injury" crap too.
And one more thing....Kent was a redshirt Freshman when he started....of course you know that means he practiced with the team a whole year and he went thru spring drills before taking over. But then again, your offense is so primitive, Im sure he will be able to come in and take over. At least I hope he does.

"Dude, Ima give you da ball, and you runs dat-away"

More proof that we are SCARED of A&T.....LOL

A&T looking for more versatility

GREENSBORO -- Some things never change.

With only eight returning seniors, N.C. A&T football appears to be in a rebuilding mode. Even so, the Aggies "Blue Death" defense figures to be as menacing as ever.

During spring football drills, A&T's defense, one of the MEAC's best in recent seasons, showed considerable promise. That's a good sign for a unit that will miss the contributions of eight lettermen whose college careers ended in November.

"We moved some people around on defense and things have come along nicely," coach Bill Hayes said. "There's enough talent on that side of the ball, but the big difference is team speed. Overall, things were far from perfect, but the spring progressed reasonably well."

The most notable changes defensively involve James Francis and Joey Lance, a pair of speedy outside linebackers who were moved to inside linebacker. Those two join Douglas Okaracha to form what is expected to be a formidable unit for 2002.

Defensive lineman Ivan Butler is excited about the prospects.

"The D-line is one of our strengths, but we're going to get major input from the linebackers," Butler said. "There will be some blitz packages and more line stunts. We're going to come after people a lot more. I can't wait to get the season started. I believe we can be even better than last year."

The Aggies posted an 8-3 record last year, but it was a season in which high expectations were not met. A&T lost two of its last three games after All-America tailback Maurice Hicks suffered a season-ending knee injury, and the Aggies missed the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs for the second year in a row.

A&T will need more offensive balance to challenge for this year's conference title. And based on spring drills, the Aggies appear to have the potential to develop into a contender. Still, a number of questions about the offense aren't likely to be answered until preseason practice begins in August.

In the spring, redshirt freshman Randal Rankin and Booker Washington, a converted wide receiver, took most of the snaps at quarterback. But with prized QB recruits Jason Douglas and Marshall Glenn coming in, it's conceivable that one or both of the spring quarterbacks might join the receiving corps.

The Aggies' strengths on offense are at wide receiver and on the line. Jamal Jones, Bud Phillips, Curtis Deloatch and Kenny Perry are being counted on to give A&T more big-play capability. Deloatch, a Division I-AA All-America kick-return artist, is making the switch from cornerback to wideout.

Up front, the Aggies are young, but there is ample game experience on hand. Patrick Jordan and Junius Coston got valuable playing time as freshmen a year ago. Desmond Long has the tools to emerge as an all-conference player.

"We're still striving to discover what our offensive personality will be," said offensive coordinator Allan Gerber. "We're not going to abandon being a ball-control team. But we also want to be versatile enough to get the ball to our best athletes in as many different ways as possible."

So are we saying that AT&T lost 8 players from last years defense? And you dont have a QB yet? This is going to be a damn shame.

I guess we gone be dragging they ass around again.

Unless that Freshman wears us out.....:emlaugh:

GR, are you this stupid or are you just playing stupid?

I read were it said that we will miss [/b] eight letterman[/b] on the team. That's because we got a chance to play most of the third stringers in several of our blow outs.

We actually return 8 starters on last year's defense and most of the key backups. Our defense will be deeper than yours.

Dude, please stop embrassing yourself by agruing with me.

The end is near. LOL!

BTW: The writer got some of this stuff wrong. Jason Douglas is already at school. Glenn and the new recruit, Burton, are the one's coming this summer.

That is when the real QB battle begins.

Yall are returning most of those same losers from last year???? GREAT!!!

hey thrilla....I know are superior to me...Im just reading and weeping.

This is going to be so sweet

...And last time I checked those "losers" were winners against JSU.

We only gave up 1 second half scoring drive and we intercepted 5 kent passes.

Blah blah blah

You obviously did not go to SU because you are doing a horrible job of spinning this in your favor.

JR send help

Spinning what in my favor?

This :

During spring football drills, A&T's defense, one of the MEAC's best in recent seasons, showed considerable promise.

This:

the Aggies "Blue Death" defense figures to be as menacing as ever.

this:

"We moved some people around on defense and things have come along nicely," coach Bill Hayes said. "There's enough talent on that side of the ball, but the big difference is team speed.

Or this:

"The D-line is one of our strengths, but we're going to get major input from the linebackers," Butler said. "There will be some blitz packages and more line stunts. We're going to come after people a lot more. I can't wait to get the season started. I believe we can be even better than last year."

Please tell me what is there to spin? The article said it better than I could.

Thrilla, which of these guys is your middle linebacker? The Mafia needs a good laugh today.

Lance 6'1', 205
Okaracha 6'2, 220
Francis 6'1, 220

Man, from what I can tell you all are building an all star Alabama State-like defensive front. :lmao:

Counselor can run over these dudes. And like GR said, we are happy to play that loser defense again but if you have 8 of those sorry jokers returning (which is not true BTW), you all can't be doing a lot of shifting people around unless those starters have lost their jobs.

..and Thrilla, read # 3 as many times as you need to let it sink in.

Why are you over here again? Why don't you go bother Morgan, Howard, BCC or somebody?

..and Thrilla, my tone did not change. I was simply trying to settle you down. I honestly think you are wetting your pants over nothing. This kid has not qualified, has not showed up (and you talk about our kickers), and does not know one single Aggie play.

Honestly, I don't doubt your talent. I just don't think it will be ready for your September schedule. A&T could round out the year with a series of wins but the team has to come together first....and your OC needs to take some classes. Poor Deloatch. :lmao:

That would be interesting if those guy were really that size. You must have went to the Get Ready school of roster reading.

Also please tell me how many starters we have returning since it is not eight?

I can count all four in the secondary, two linebackers, and two on the D-line returning. That adds up to eight to me. It's really three coming back on the D-line, but one of those guys didn't start until after week four.

Then add in a first team all-state linebacker, a second team all-state DB who runs a 4.3, and the 4th highest rated JUCO D-lineman in the nation, and you'll see why JSU will get murdered again.

Thrilla, do me a favor and STOP TALKING ABOUT THOSE DAYUM FRESMAN who are going to murder JSU. It really sounds sad. Now if want to talk about some quality depth and experience from last year, I will listen. ALso how do you return three from the secondary and Deloatch is WR now. That's 7-1=6. Then how can you lose two LB"s and still have two returning. That's 6-1= 5. It's probably more like 3. :lmao: But whatever you do, please bring back that D-line. :swink:

Hey thrilla....man you suck

Man I really hope those losers are coming back. Hey why not petition the NCAA for another year. Use the SU Hayes method of getting another year. We need those guys to come back so we can be successful. Thrilla, man you are sweating. This is getting worser and worser for you.

First of all, I want to say that this writer is obviously trying his best to suck up to A&T due to the lack of coverage the paper gives him but he loses even more credibility with this BS:

Thrilla, you gonna make sure we sit together right. :lmao:
