This is no laughing matter
We have to do something to help these schools get their APR up to avoid
irreversable sanctions from the NCAA. The most important thing is education
and the kids. We must educate the kids.

Do you have any suggestions on what needs to be done?

GR,
You already know my feelings on this. Our schools must recruit better student-athletes and hire coaches that can coach them up on the field like the Naval Academy does to stay competitive at the FBS level. They recruit rocket science type kids who will serve the Navy or Marines and they are usually undersized and not the fastest kids but since they are so smart and very disciplined, all they need is coaching to at least be a Bowl team every year and beat higher valued recruits at the Notre Dame's and such. We can use the same formula. Our problem is coaching the smart kids up once we get them. Those gold teeth players (Thanks MD) gone get us banned.

As for the schools who recently got their APR results and now face what SU and JSU did last year. For us it has been the last 2-3 years of losing schollies. I can't say I feel sorry for anyone since our downfall should have been an example of what not to do. So I can't offer any solution to those schools other than recruit smart athletes and hold your athletic department accountable for the development of them in and out the classroom. Just glad we are going in the right direction at SU. Got Men's track to work on though. I do wonder (even though I am taking the high road - thanks MH) if there will be a conference vote like it was for us last year. Should be interesting on the results.

I don't understand the logic of targeting these lower-performing schools for student-athletes. :smh: In PV's case, I really think the recruiting staff is afraid of white people in white school districts. :emlaugh:

P88----> :retard: If I were a recruiter, I'd be targeting EVERY SINGLE school district that bordered the larger repulsive and academically inferior urban school districts. :| Period.
