yeah I read those Coach Cooper stories on an alumni football facebook group... Coop was WILD... and cuss you out and send you home QUICK. He grew our program... upgraded facilities.... moved our football program from D2 thinking to D1 thinking..... then we go back and hire a D2 coach who didnt hold it up. Jones thought he was in heaven when he got to AAMU.... Cooper had MUCH greater expectations.
 



I see what y'all tried to do. You ain't sneaky. BamaNorth tried to sneak this news in while all the blacks in Alabama were still suffering over the Tide loss. Y'all ain't slick but I see you working. Since folks is distracted you think think folks won't notice in Huntsville. Well actually they won't but this just sad and wrong

All that man has done for y'all kept y'all relevant kept y'all out of the APR fire and as soon as the dude has one bad year you fire him? Its not like y'all like black college football ...its not like y'all go to the games....its not like y'all support the damn team yet y'all fire this man who has been to 6scgs? Hell he was doing y'all a favor by being there. Who are y'all to fire this man? I hope he pissed in the coffee pot on the way out. This some bull.
 
Pete Richardson (Winston-Salem) & Doug Williams (Morehouse), came from D-2 programs and they won quite a few championsips......AAMU don't measure all D-2 coaches by the teams Comegy (Tuskegee) has put on the field.

Sorry No Haley is not available plus he would cost you 325 grand...Now get on to some coaches you can afford...:idea: since you all like the D2 ranks why not offer Asberry he is affordable!:emlaugh:

LOL..the only D2 Coach worth considering in my book is Cornell Maynor of Winston-Salem. Y'all can keep Asberry. :)
 



This will be a crucial hire for the AD because if the coach does not work out, The AD could be next to go. The academics are solid (no worry). Putting a product on the field that will be able to compete with out of conference teams. win SWAC games. and bring back the attendance MUST be the focus. There will be huge interest in this job nationwide.

PS: For a coach to walk into good facilities, APR on solid ground, recruiting in Alabama, bring in his own staff, and an AD who must support him is a dream job.

Exactly he knows JSU ass is about to get put back in its place in the middle of the SWAC. That why he hated it when Gram fired Doug sorry ass, but you can best believe that Grambling fans are loving where we are about to venture. Do your thang AAMU don't listen to GR he will disappear after SU crack that ass next week.

That's why they sucked. With APR, you have to have GREAT recruiter to win. Look at UAPB. They won with some dummies.. now look at em. JSU is having a hard time maintaining talent but we are doing a decent job.

AAMU has never had a coach that could beat JSU except for the Bell years. We ain't worried about no team in the SWAC but Grambling. We might suffer an upset here or there but over time, JSU will always win the most vs the rest of the SWAC.
 
Firing your HC should have been resorted to AFTER they gave Jones more money to hire better assistants. If you keep the money the same, you will get similar results.
