Alabama State stuns No. 4 Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Alabama State plated a late run to stun No. 4 ranked Miami with a 6-5 win came on Saturday night at Alex Rodriguez Park.
ASU (34-18) jumped out 3-0 in the second inning, before UM (33-14) tied the game at three in the sixth/ The Hornets pushed the lead back to a pair runs in the seventh as the Hurricanes evened 5-5 in the home half of the same frame. However, ASU scored a run off in the eighth on a fielding error, and then held on in the ninth to master the upset.
The Hurricanes committed four errors in the field behind Andrew Suarez.
Einar Muniz went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Waldyvan Estrada went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Richard Amion drove in two runs for ASU.

Errors cost UM baseball team in one-run loss

The UM baseball team’s defense, which has plagued coach Jim Morris’ squad in recent years, has been sensational this season in a run of six consecutive victories and 20 wins in the past 21 games.
On Saturday night, the fielding behind Miami pitching returned to its ways of old. The Hurricanes, ranked fourth by Collegiate Baseball and 10th by Baseball America, committed four errors in a 6-5 loss to Alabama State at Alex Rodriguez Park.
“All the things we’ve been doing for the last month to win all these games, we did the opposite [Saturday night],” Morris said. “We weren’t fundamentally sound, we didn’t execute. We’ve been playing great defense and we kicked it around and made four errors.
