Alabama State does not belong in the NCAA Tournament

Every year people come in and say that a team doesn't belong in and the reg season champ deserves to go! Bullisht! All you got to do is WIN!!! If you were as good as your record indicated you'd be there! Face it! you got caught slippin!!! Get over it!!!

Yup, I kinda figured you would be done with it soon enough.
:scared:

oh well, guess nobody can answer.........

congrats to ASU HORNETS and PV LADY PANTHERS for winning the swac tournament and getting the SWAC's automatic bids.

Answer the question, then you come back with the same old shat dismissing the answer, and now you back acting like I done something wrong by dropping out this garbage. Sorry azz teams coupled with sorry azz thinking equals a embarrasing situation year after year. It ain't gonna get better cause ya'll are completely satisified and content with being laughing stocks.

Again.
SWAC MENTALITY.
GOOD LUCK AT 5pm.

I say, screw the regular season. Let's just do enough to earn that #8 seed in the SWAC tournament and then go on to win it the whole thing. I mean, we can rest our starters and let our backups play for the OOC games and just play hard enough just to get the #8 seed.

Man, some of ya'll are the most bottomline people in the world.. There are MANY benefits to doing well in both the regular season and in the tournament.

Dude, nobody gives 3 ishts about going to the NIT.........well except sTu. Only the Tourney Champ goes to the Big Dance, so i say let's take that #8 seed and just get hot once Tourney time rolls around. That sure will help our starters. They dont have to worry about getting injuried and they'll be well rested.

The point it proves is that every conference gives their automatic bid to their tournament champion.

Just because everyone else does it does not make it justifiable for teh SWAC, especially since the conferences and level of play are not equivalent. If the Ivy League can send their regular season champs to the NCAA, so can we.

I'm beat down man, I give up, NO-MAS, NO-MAS (turning back while getting hit in the head).
Thats should be the motto of this conference.

We don't play for shat outside of a SWAC championship in football so screw losses to OOC opponents. They are meaningless. We ain't playing for a NC in FCS so why schedule FCS OOC at all? :noidea:

The regular season in BBall is meaningless so lay back, play Millsaps, Belhaven, Tougaloo, and Mississippi College 3 times each from November to January. Give players half games off playing these SWAC teams after January, going .500 should do it, and then hit the tournament wide open and healthy. Why wear out our players playing the pre-season schedule we do with all that traveling for no reason.

83,
Didn't you also sayt that the reg season champ should go to the Big Dance? That's what I was responding to.

After my first post of "This will be the last year the NCAA let a team with losing records in the tournament". People so caught up in posting bullshat they don't bother to understand what is being said about the overall state and preception of this conference.

BUT.................WHO GAS..............Ya'll won't see the point anyway after all this time.
We like to be laughing stocks.

GOOD LUCK AT 5pm.

I agree, although I won't say its a case of a reg season champ getting caught slipping. Cause, in most years, I don't see where there is all that much separation between our teams. Even this year, TxSou won the SWAC by a considerable wide margin, but they shole weren't blowing teams out the water. They had many close games.

Notice the main school complaining.:emlaugh:
Again.
If people would only read and comprehend.
I ain't said shat about Bamma State and you should know cause you were the first to answer my FIRST post. Too bad you glossed over what was said to start the JSU complaining bullshat.

But shat talking comes before meaningful discussions anyday here. :smh:

Wrong, Pine Bluff won their game

I'm just saying... damn. Didnt UAPB just win LAST YEAR in the play-in game (and rather impressively) against Winthrop? Maybe it was all in my mind...

That game alone let me know that we are not sloppy piss po like most of the gloom and doom posters in this thread are posting. Do I think we need to improve? Hell yes... I have been saying for a while that I know the reason WHY we have so many money games... but wish we didnt have them. We need to schedule down and worry about records rather than paychecks not as much. at this point, even a 25-6 SWAC team probably wont make the NCAA as an at-large but if you are showing signs of consistency, that over will lure in some better recruits (in the SWAC's case, SIZE). And my tourny idea would be a money maker for sure...

But I'm not the one to complain all the time... especially as some have said you know the deal going into the tourney... win 3 and you are good to go. I dont like the idea either of dismissing the regular season champ either, but until that day happens when we scrap the SWAC tourney (which wont be anytime soon it seems), dont poo poo on the Hornets for their tourney because your team didnt make it or what "others" are saying.

Did you post that the reg season champ should get the auto bid to the Big Dance?

and as far as your "big shat talking at 7, ummmm ok.... Bama State is the SWAC tournament champ now and come 7:00, Bama State will still be SWAC tournament champ. so..........:wavey:

I answered that the last time you asked and told you why I said that.
I you too lazy to go back to page #1, post #3 and post #6, to see exactly what I said and why, thats your problem cause I'm through with the same question crap. :smh:

As for your last statement, like I said, posters here are perfectly content with being laughing stocks. Really pathetic but as long as you happy..........................MO Power to ya.

There is an argument to be made the conference tournaments only serve smaller conferences as revenue generators. In the multiple bid conferences, it more most likely that the regular season champ will get an invitation to the tournament regardless. If a Cinderella makes are tournament run and wins it, that is gravy for the conference. For one bid leagues, that model does not work and may hurt our chances of our most competitive team making it to the tournament.

Also, if you held the tournament with nothing at stake, it better be one hell of a party because many would be uninterested in attending.

Most regular season champion don't win their conference tournaments. The difference is their conference champions will still get an invite to the NCAA Tournament.

If by AN NCAA tourney you mean the NIT then yeah... the power 6 conferences and MAYBE the CAA, A-10 and C-USA (only reason UAB got in this year) are the only schools usually guaranteed that their regular season champ will usually get an invite if they dont win the tourney...

Anyone else is an auto bid... simple and plain as that. SWAC, MEAN, Southland, Big Sky, Patriot, OVC, etc...

The problem is that there is very little difference between the regular season champion and the tournament champion due to parity in the SWAC. If Alabama State can win the tourney fair and square, then they should go because they are arguably the best the conference has to offer at the end of the season.

dude, calm down and get over yourself and stop taking every little article you see as the end all, be all, sky is falling end of the world as we know it. Or in this case, the NCAA tournament.

I can agree with that... no argument from me on that. Alabama State and Grambling played better than anyone in the conference the few weeks or so...
