I know this IS The SWAC Page and all....... But I just wanted to share some hott knowledge that I picked up recently from my folks @ FAMU..... Apparently, Dr. White's vision of a 500 member band is well within reach this year, because the supposedly have a freshman class of 250 people. That is re-damn-diculous......

??? Edward Waters has a band (they were in Honda last year).... I hope you are not talking about the Junior College in Tally. FAMU had no more than 6 people from Tallahassee Community College in their band.

If they have 500 I can guarantee they wont travel any where this year except FC, Personally I would not want to lead or be a member of that band that large. Heck I hated waiting to eat with the 250 we had when I was at Jsu.

LOL. Those rest area stops gonna last 3 hours.

Man, the Tallahassee corner stores should start selling reeds and valve oil... There's clearly a HUGE market.
 



Weekly 100 Notes:

- Members do not forget to sign up for Pep Band. Each band member must participate. We have 10 home basketball games and we will have 10 Pep Bands (50 members each). So you will only have to perform at one game.

- Please remember to PAY ATTENTION to your travel itineraries. ESPECIALLY when we make stops. On our last trip we left 39 people at Ryan's. Over the past season we left a total of 4,229 people different places. It is impossible for us to call roll and check for all of you, so PLEASE be mindful of all reporting times.

- If you have not learned all of the field show music... don't sweat it. There are 500 of us. Come on.

- Remember there is NO REASON a person on Bus 1 should leave anything at FAMU when we take road trips. If you are on Bus 1 and discover you have left something... just call someone on bus 23 and they can stop and get it before they pull off.

Isn't 500 people about 15.625 company fronts?

Famu camp drill 2009.

march on field in company fronts. mark time 50,000. Dance, (ever so slightly not to injure yourself and instrument) , leave field music good times (up tempo). Oh and we are going to have to double the speed of the rattle so we can get off the field before the football penalty for delay of game.
 
Note: EVERY candidate for a municipal office in the City of Tallahassee will be here to speak to the band tomorrow. We will conduct a private meeting after their speeches to determine who the 100 will endorse. AGAIN, we will ALL vote for the same person. In totally unrelated news, the Mayor of Tallahassee has donated $5,000 to the band.

In other news the AD for FAMU reports fewer tickets to sell this season due to increased band size. To make up for the loss of revenue ticket sales will go up by 10% per additional band member over 250 per game.
