Uh didn't I say SU offered the kid who went to Alabama. We offered Jarvis Landry too. You do know his Brother is Gerard Landry who was All SWAC. We offered him when he had offers to FBS schools. Ain't our fault TXSU didn't offer your son.

Must you be so cruel? :emlaugh:

WOW!

If only you'd waited until the draft was actually over before posting this:

...then maybe you'd have just a little more credibility when it comes to football knowledge. Next time, if I were you, I'd wait until the draft is over before you incorrectly post what the SWAC isn't getting done.

THANK YOU!!!

Yawn...and your point? Seems as if I've found a soft spot. HBCU Conference vs. HBCU Conference.

The 3 Time FCS Champ ND State had how many get drafted?

Folks have to realize that the whole FCS has fallen off...not just the HBCUs (of course we get hit the hardest). If you go back a few years, you'd find there were many more FCS players in the NFL than there are now. IMO, it probably has a lot to do with those FCS schools who moved up to FBS but are still really just FCS schools talent wise and SEC type schools using fewer reverse-Affirmative-Action schollies if you know what I mean. Back 10-20 years ago, you probably didn't see nearly as many brothers on the sidelines (2nd and 3rd string) as you do now.

Love Doss coming to my Redskins, but he is going to have to beat out Moss, Hankerson, and Tulane's Ryan Grant. I hope he does!

TnSU's Edwards, Rhaney Selected in the 2014 NFL Draft

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former offensive linemen, Kadeem Edwards and Demetrius Rhaney, were selected on day three of the 2014 NFL Draft. Edwards, a native of Sanford, will return to the Sunshine State as the Bucs’ fourth selection in the draft, the 143rd pick overall. Rhaney waited until the seventh round and the 250th pick before the St. Louis Rams called his name.

The 2014 draft marks the first time since 2000 for two Tigers to go in the same draft. Tackle Michael Thompson was selected in the 4th round, #100, by the Atlanta Falcons, while WR Avion Black was taken 21 picks later by the Buffalo Bills.

The Tiger tandem helped the Ohio Valley Conference to the most selections for an FCS conference, with four. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppollo, Eastern Illinois, and wide receiver Walter Powell, Murray State, were picked by the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals, respectively. The four selections were the most for the OVC since 1996 when five players were taken.

If 8-8 for the three years is the worst we can do, what will happen when we get DEPTH? The starters we have can win a Super Bowl but depth is truly what wins in the NFL. We now have depth. Remember, injuries have given way to a lot of 2nd stringers and 3rd stringers on defense getting playing time.

Duane Harris is dangerous on special teams. Offensively, Romo has a new WR to go along with Dez, T-Will, Witten, and Cole Beasley. Gavin Escobar got PT last year. We now have a solid OL. Then you Murray and Lance Dunbar.

With some more PT, these players will be Super Bowl ready. It's ok to be scared...

So, what's the count now? 4 SWAC athletes signed free agent contracts (Allen, Doss, Cox, Crowell), and one invited to an NFL team mini camp (Wenzig)!

Good stuff!

Prairie View's Deandre Cooper got invited to the Detroit Lions rookie camp, hope he makes some noise along with all the other SWAC players who are headed to various teams, good luck guys

So the NLF succumb to the LGBT and draft Sams in 7 pick 249 by Rams!

ESPN had video of this dude and his boyfield slobbing on TV. That shat has set the NFL back 25 years. :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh:

Well, it didn't take long for the first actions to happen against a NFL player.

"Dolphins fine and suspend player for tweeting negative comment about Michael Sam

When Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones tweeted "horrible" in regards to Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend on ESPN after being drafted by the St. Louis Rams on Saturday, it wasn't a moment the NFL, Sam, the Dolphins or anyone wanted.

But make no mistake, it allowed the NFL an opportunity to send a strong message: If you have public and negative comments about Sam and his sexuality, you will be punished and shamed.

Jones, a second-year strong safety who had 10 tackles in 16 games last year, tweeted "omg" right after ESPN showed Sam's reaction to being drafted. According to thephinsider.com, when asked on Twitter if he was referring to Sam kissing his boyfriend, Jones tweeted, "horrible."

The Dolphins and NFL aren't going to mess around with this type of thing. Jones was fined and suspended from all team activities until he completes educational training for his Twitter comments. The Dolphins didn't put this off. On a relatively quiet Sunday around the NFL, the Dolphins announced the punishment, put out a statement from coach Joe Philbin and an apology from Jones:"

But if they come after your religious beliefs, then that is ok! The guy kissing his boyfriend on TV set the NFL back 50 years!

It's only a trend with players coming from SEC schools. Now ALL the players from SEC schools would rather been seen kissing their boyfriends on national T.V. instead of their mommas come draft day. :emlaugh:
