2008 Prairie View A&M Univ Football Notes

Samantha averaged over 9,000 in 2006, how many years has Samantha been playing football? I guess every dog has its day.

And they did so in 2007 as well. It's actually been pretty consistent attendance-wise for the Kats. It's not like TSU, where you guys went from over 10,000 pre-Durley Complex (2005) and then went what, 3.5k to 4k last year...

Berry Center would be a nice facility to play the game at though nonetheless.

Like I've said before, CyFair ISD has 8 schools playing varsity football at 2 stadiums this fall and 2 more high schools (10 total) opening this fall. I doubt that there will be any openings to play a game there.

Then what was the point in going?

He was there training with a bunch of other officials.

So, which facility can SHSU and PV play at if Blackshear Field is out due to the potential revenue windfall for the Panthers? Or should we wait to see how this year's game goes attendance-wise before reaching that conclusion?

They should play the game @ Blackshear, I don't think SHSU will bring enough fans to move the game.

How many does Blackshear hold? If it holds 6000, what does PV do when teams that travel en masse come to Prairie View? Can they cram them in there? Seems that they had just a shade under 9000 a few times in 2006.

I believe SHSU can travel 1500+ to PV. We sent 3000+ to Houston in 2005 and we do have a lot of people who live close to PV. If the school promotes it right and we've shown that we're heading the right direction in that mindset, we may be able to pull it off. We travel en masse to SFA, not sure we'll be able to pull off the same numbers for PV.

Have no idea. PV doesn't play SU @ Blackshear, because SU has a large traveling fan base. If SHSU only averages 9,000 , I doubt they will bring many fans to PV.

You think 1,500 is a lot of fans  . You think PV would move a game for 1,500 fans. Stop trying to get out of playing PV @ Blackshear.

Either way, something needs to be planned now. Waller ISD has plans for a 10K stadium, but I wouldn't mind the Berry Center if we can get it (It's right down the street from the house). Also, Welch could be the QB at that time and he is a Cy-Falls Grad (his brother and my son are playing together at Cy-Woods this fall).

How's a Thurs nite slate looking @ the Berry CTR Fi? I know Fri/Sat would be booked and quite possibly a Thurs nite but if possible...

If the game this fall goes as planned and w/ the crowd I'm anticipating, barring bad weather, next year's game could be huge. :read:

Don't worry about TexasError, he hasn't physically attended a Samantha game in over 3 years.

That's incorrect. The wife and I were at a game in 2006, that game taking place in Hammond, La. Were you there with me? I also attended each home game in 2005 plus the road game at Houston. Oh wait, that was not over three years ago.

2007 was the first year that I missed a Bearkat game since I began my undergrad. I could have gone to Hammond in '07, but there was an event that I had to attend that may have been the only thing that outweighed a visit to a Bearkat game. Brought a lot of closure to my pre-Katrina post and really opened up the new chapter on where I am now.

So, what's that? Does that mean, I've seen a Bearkat game in person more recently than Texas Southern won a game? Come on C-Leb, you apparently know tons about me...you are obviously slipping a bit! I'm upset -- especially if you are so interested in being the ghost writer on my autobiography. ;)

He's always busy with work and traveling to the far reaches of the Earth.

You always state you know this and that about my professional career. I'll give you credit, your finally correct. My line of works does involve travel. I've left the non-profit world and doing a lot of great things. Like at my previous job, I do a pretty good job of maintaining a web site. ;)

I never was opposed to it. I was just curious how things work and no, I never said 1,500 is a lot of fans. SHSU needs to work on being a team that travels. Unfortunately, we just do not do that and it will take time to build that up, just like it's taken time to really put $$$ and effort into building up the game experience. Until three years ago, SHSU did not have someone devoted to game experience.

Glad to see PV got a vote in the Sports Network top 25. Surprised TSU got more votes than them. Some national media buying into Reid and the HOBO offense.

PVU tell Mark Spivey not to throw the ball because a transfer for TSU by the name of the Curtis Thomas will be in the secondary. :lmao: :lmao:

Sounds like that might be a problem for SU. Stop passing off SU worries as PV concerns.

Thanks you....

all that other crap had to go..........

Thanks Fi. It's almost becoming unbearable. :retard: But it's quite expected from certain "folx." :retard:

Wonder when the annual lol sTu vs PVU writeup will come out? W/ all the renewed vigor in Pantherland, something in print should be forthcoming, eh?

technically, Curtis Thomas should be at Alcorn considering who he's related to....BUT......when you treat the legends a certain that can come back to bite you...

Thanks you....

all that other crap had to go..........

Zach "The Beast" East is back in the fold...Thanks Big Brothers for the favor...

It could be a long first half for Bobby "Don't call me soft" Reid.

P, our time for discussion and reasoning is almost up with sTu. Let them think and worry very hardly about what is about to transpire 8/30 at 7pm. The truth is the majority of them don't have the slightest belief that they will win the game and most 'tigger' fans know it. You just have a few of those 'wishful thinkers'...sTu should be VERY afraid. :ebrow:

Any less than a blowout will be considered a 'mythical' loss...

PVS7, this is irking me. Next Sat can't get here fast enough. :| I know our guys want to hit. :read: I'm sure sTu's players feel likewise.

I'm curious to see what our starting lineup(s) will look like though and I'm guessing we'll find out Saturday 1 minute pre-kickoff :read:. Also, it seems like the "Eyes of Texas" isn't the only state song being sung around these parts lol. The "Eyes of sTu Are Upon You" is the next verse. :read:

Hey Spears! :wavey:
Hey Cole! :wavey:
