2008 Olympics: Notes, Stories & Observations

I doubt it. This is the year of the Jamaicans. They would've probably won both any way.
I don't know. Bolt and Powell got who else running with them. It takes 4 each race. And there's generally 2-3 others that run prelims and such to preserve legs. But even if we lost a fully run race, it's a helluva lot more acceptable than dropping the baton.

DallasCowboyGir, you must have been keeping up with the results from the net too? The only thing I've seen on tv thus far is stilled pics from Tyson Gay's semis and Bolt standing in from of the clock that reads 9.69. See I just hate it how they treat my 2nd favorite sport. You would have thought they would have shown this event live and given it the coverage it deserves. Neverthless let me make my 4 x 100 meter relay predictions now...1. Jamaica 2.Trinidad and Tobago 3. U.S. (if they don't drop the baton).

BTW, the word is Bolt could have ran even faster, yet he was so far ahead that he started showboating during the last couple of meters...imagine that!
:smh:

Can anyone tell me "exactly" when Team USA will be back on tv? I can only find broad timeframes (8am to 8pm)....:noidea:

I'm assuming you mean basketball.

They will play @ 10:15pm in China Friday night so that means it will be on in the US @ 10:15am EST on Friday morning. NBC.

First, much respect to China for "Project 119" and not talking about it but doing something about their lack of showing. Unlike "typical" americans, like too many in this current thread right now :retard:, those folx put action behind their words. One, w/ any semblance of intelligence and 1/2 of an ounce of intellect :retard:, can't help but applaud them for their efforts because they accomplished what they set out to do.

This has got to rank a close second or maybe third on the "dumbest things you've ever posted list" on this website.

Yes, I applaud and highly respect China for being committed and putting on an excellent summer olympics on their homeland as well as the pride their residents have shown and winning the most gold medals. I have a fellow alum that's living in China now and has been filling me in on Project 119 since January so I am well versed in the project when you just heard about it during the opening ceremonies.

What I'm getting at is what in the hell does the United States of America's men and women 2008 4x100 relay teams not having a clean exchange have to do with "Project 119"?

Maybe this thread should die before some "folx" :retard: go and commit cyber-suicide. :retard: Take the purple pill! Take the purple pill! lol SWALLOW!!! :dead: lol

Project 119... Logical and analytical people applaud what China did. :| Jamaica M&W own the sprints right now. It's their season and it would be ridiculously childish to hate on them because they're winning consistently in sprints, which historically was American owned. :swink: :wavey:

Sore losers man. Talk a bunch of sh*t because they're acclimated to do so but nothing behind the words but the empty space like their brain, nothingness... China put actions behind their words from several years ago. That's almost mind boggling.

And the rest was silence...

Hey guy, did you graduate from a 4-year institution of higher learning?

Just asking. :)

Dude, if the games were being held in Antartica or the Panama Canal, what does "Project 119" and even giving Jamaica their props for dominating the sprints have to do with USA dropping the baton?

Dude, I have several close friends who run/ran for Jamaica. As a matter of fact, my best friend is currently married to the most decorated Jamaican hurdler in the world (Michelle Freeman) who I love just like a sister and have no animosity or jealousy towards the Jamaican National Team or any individual on the team. They won, that is great! I am very proud of a country with less that 3 million people to win the men's and women's 100 and 200 meter dashes. I've been to Jamaica and visited the historic so-called fitness center that was highlighted that most of them train at earlier in the olympics.

I am pissed at the United States of America relay teams for there actions or shall I say lack thereof.

But... I've got to remember I'm not talking to a track athlete.

Yes, I did graduate from an institution of higher learning as well as have become CERTIFIED in my profession.

Tell the americans to stop taking performance enhancing products and do it naturally (hopefully) like the rest of the world. Maybe then the US congress would CEASE w/ the CONSTANT barrage of interrogations into SPORTS and SPORTS MEDS ENHANCEMENTS. :retard: Damn, some of you are getting all bent out of shape like you're currently in Beijing running. :retard: Stupid. :retard:

PROJECT 119 on your *F*'ing asses. :uzi: :p :emlaugh: Brains... pure brains by China.

LOL @ Panth.

I was lead leg 4x100m lol, 3rd leg 4x400m, ran the 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m High-Hurdles, and long jumped. Recv'd the varsity letter as a soph HS @ the 5A level. lol I chose to concentrate on football in a state where football is king. :)

Did you check out CISD's new multi-million $ football stadium that didn't include a track? :emlaugh: We all know what's king around these parts: football and swimming.

:swink:

Generally speaking, some Texans are some of the most simple & backwards folx you'd ever want to meet. lol :emlaugh: God blessed me in the midst of this stupidity for a reason though. :wavey:

If I only was messy enough to mention what Praire View's university president personally had to say about a certain one of his alums.

So you ran the 100m High-Hurdles huh?

LOL @ the Texas Two-Steps going at it!!!

Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooo Black! :emlaugh: I don't go @ it w/ these natives around these parts too much. They take you down to their level of stupidity and impose upon you their level of ignorance. :emlaugh: I try my best to keep "mute" around these natives mane. lol

#1, Wright didn't graduate from PV so none of us are his "alums." He's our university president and that's as far as that marriage goes. Wright has his thoughts and he has every right to them. Can't hate on that. I'll personally ask him if he's made disparaging comments to someone who matriculated about sTu regarding a PV alum @ the LDC (I'll be in his suite :read: ) and I'm not kidding or joking (seriously). :|

So you ran the 100m High-Hurdles huh?

Not my cup of tea. It's a helluva event. :)

I asked the simple question...

What does China's Project 119 have to do with this?

The response I got was...

It's the mental part of the game. Afterall, it's not all physical, is it? lol The chinese have americans scurred to grab a stick (baton) on a relay.

As well as...

I ran the 100m High Hurdles

Talk about intelligence. :smh:

Leave it be man. You know I don't pay attention to you folx from that region. lol I don't feel like explaining where "High Hurdles" came from. :read: :emlaugh:

I have "TexaninitisADHD," so I really don't pay attention to 1/1,000,000,000th of anything most of you have to say anyway. :dizzy:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

:smh:

I bet the USOC will get the feds out of there business now this is the poorest showing for the US in track and field ever. Right down shamful.

This is interesting. To what extent have the feds been involved?

Why is it that no other country (that I'm aware of) has such a consistent issue of baton dropping at the olympics???

I do not know.

Training them here is not an excuse. It doesn't change the fact that we keep dropping the damn baton. If the thing stays off the ground, we win. Simple as that. It's not like they are faster than us. We simply keep fugging up. That's totally on us. Nothing they are doing.

I agree.

Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Shelly-Ann Frazer (Jamaica gold medal 100 meter runner) all never attended college in the states or train in the states.

This is correct.

Okay Cleb and DallasCowboyGirl, you two alluded to something a couple of weeks ago in another thread. What's really going on with Jeremy and Clyde? Jeremy lost all of his cool points when asked about his former coach.

WTH...

What da heck is going on with the American Track & Field??? The men and women both dropped the baton. The men stepping out of their lanes, women hitting hurdles??? I'm starting to think about what Williams said...someone somewhere has a voodoo doll. Er...what state prison is Marilyn Jones in???
