I love how Coach Reed responded to those people who were making comments.

Broken mentalities.Question. If BCU asked Sims to coach for two years with these conditions, it really don't make sense to fire him. No one could win with that.
It doesn't make sense, but Sims came in behind Brian Jenkins. Some peolpe are quick to forget when it comes down to winning or losing. We have alums from Texas Southern still asking for Johnnie Cole to be given another chance.Question. 97,BS assessment. No one is saying cover up anything or hide it. But he has no clue to speak on things without doing the work and researching some of the pitfalls. PWI's mismanage money all the time they just have more to mismanage. Those folks steal, embezzle, hook up family members etc etc. But let's ignore the facts of lack of funding, boards adding their own inept cronies to sabotage schools etc etc. Ed Reed and Deion yapping their gums with little research is the problem. Go to the meetings, go to congressional hearing and make a difference. Being a loudmouth with no real facts is the main gripe.
I just loved how my thread was taken over by the modsWhy was this thread merged? It's a completely different Coach Reed who didn't mention Ed or Deion but a general statement
Broken mentalities.
Not concerned about the conditions. Only concerned about putting up a good front.
Not going to do anything to fix the conditions, but nobody better not say anything about it.
Say something and we'll cry real tears. Get all of our buddies to cry with us. Feel real smug about ourselves and wonder what's wrong with you when you're looking at us like we're crazy.
"Damn shame." - Ed Reed
smh
Touche'.Why change if folks keep taking the job under the same conditions?
No need to make yourself look like a fool cussing people out. Expose them to the media like folks with half a brain do.
Principle: You reap what you sow.
You've never cussed any of your employers out in your life and we both know it. Not in public nor behind closed doors. Whatever issues you may have on your job, you take whatever the white men paying you dish out and keep your mouth shut and your head low. Maybe that's why you get excited when you see people like Reed disrespecting the Black people that are paying him, because you see what you can't be. That makes you a coward as well as a hypocrite.I'm also going to say this: Some folks NEED to be cussed out.
That's the problem now. Handling folks with kid gloves, walking on eggshells, and being "professional" while allowing them to do piss-poor jobs.
Some people need to be cussed out.
Some folks need a foot on their neck and another up their behind (figuratively) while you're cussing them out.
Only mediocre people have a problem with holding people accountable. Have a problem with holding people to high standards.
As long as you let those people influence the decision-making and performance, you'll always have a substandard operation. Always.
High achievers can't listen to or follow mediocre people. Even when they try to use their "hurt feelings" to manipulate you into letting them slide by the easy way. Into letting them skate.
Hell naw. Cussing your ass out is the beginning ....
You're quite presumptuous about me.You've never cussed any of your employers out in your life and we both know it. Not in public nor behind closed doors. Whatever issues you may have on your job, you take whatever the white men paying you dish out and keep your mouth shut and your head low. Maybe that's why you get excited when you see people like Reed disrespecting the Black people that are paying him, because you see what you can't be. That makes you a coward as well as a hypocrite.
Touche'.
At least you're slowly admitting conditions need to change. It seems that Ed Reed is not willing to accept the conditions. Hopefully, things change for the better for everybody.
Well, on that, we agree.Never said he was wrong about the change needed. Said he handled it wrong.
Which is why he had to apologize. Folks should accept that and move on.
Meh. Kirby Smart could have read them dudes Green Eggs and Ham and they would have blown out TCU.You're quite presumptuous about me.
My employer is myself. Before that, it was my father. I wasn't raised to be a wage slave for the white man.
You're right in one way. I've never even said a cuss word in front of my father. Much less cussed him out. I also never heard my father say a cuss word. Ever. My father had very high standards.
However, people who know me would laugh at you for thinking I've never cussed anyone. I love the "that makes you a coward and a hypocrite" statement. Hilarious. You put some thought and effort into that. I love it.
But, that's beside the point. The point is - it happens - and it's effective. In athletics, business, the military, and so forth. Some people perform better after being chewed out. There is an audio clip of Kirby Smart's national championship pregame speech floating around the internet. Laced with cuss words. We all know what they did to TCU. Georgia performed at a high level that night. Can we say cussing caused the blowout? Of course not. Yet, you and I both know that some people straighten up when they've been addressed with a few choice words.
What principle are you standing on to defend how ER handled himself?
But Ed can't begin to understand that piece with his limited time on campus or within the HBCU world. Listening to him he has no idea about those things. That's my point.97,
What is your issue with the following statement?
We have to hold all universities including PWI's and HBCU's accountable for proper business decisions. Whether that is facilities, fiscal, community involvement, academics or athletics.
Well, on that, we agree.
I care less about how he handled it. Don't think he had to apologize. The bottom line is how he handled it evoked a response. I'm willing to bet the BCU administration and staff are more attentive to Ed's needs and concerns now. So, maybe, at the end of the day, cussing was effective.
"All's well that ends well." - William Shakespeare
I don't have a buddy. I stand alone in my arguments. When are you going to your campus and do the same thing Ed did?
Your buddy never answered this question.
A person curses players and it is "coaching". The same person curses administrators and it is "unprofessional".
smh
Black folks are some well-trained slaves. Servile and docile to the "boss". Yassuh boss.
Just because the masses of you agree doesn't mean you're right. Just means the masses are conditioned to be slaves.
