The man never really wanted the job. It is obvious he accepted it begrudgingly and with remorse because the white schools left him no other choice.

BCU, he wants you to renege on the offer so he can be insulated and save face from being called a quitter.

Let his azz go or suffer the consequences.
 



I knew people would get defensive, but Ed Reed is not wrong.

When you have a different perspective, it's easy to see the things that can be improved with simply a different attitude and a higher level of performance standards.

It's sad when Black people can't help Black people because some of us are comfortable with things just the way they are.

This. The status quo has always been unacceptable, considering the amount of $$$$ being poured into it. Where is the ROI?

It's happened to Reed AND Deion at their own alma maters...

You can see why some are against hiring celebrity coaches
 
Ed Reed is right. It's largely a group of black men who all know one another that run many HBCUs in a poor fashion. And, these black men know they can get another 6 figure job at another HBCU after their time ends at their present HBCU. These are the people with the "broken mentalities" Ed Reed is talking about.

I agree...I don't have a problem with some of the things Ed Reed is saying...I just feel he needs to be addressed on why certain things are the way they are...

Yes, Reed, together with Theus, has his work cut out for him at BCU. BCU doesn't have a campus football stadium (rents a public facility owned by the city of Daytona Beach) and its basketball facility leaves much to be desired. I have not seen its other athletic venues and therfefore cannot comment on them.
 



I don't support Ed any longer. Like I've stated alot of these guys are white boys in black sheets. They need not to be allowed in our circle because all they're doing is telling our hbcu businesses but, they want tell the pwis business. These are the worst negros to be associated with, because they do and want that white folk dollar.

Of course that tends to happen. Those schools SAW what they were like (and what the school ALLOWED them to get away with) and were NOT going to let those guys near the school.
Especially celebrity seeking guys.

If you are saying they won't tell on PWI-that is because way too many of them BUST themselves when they recruit the WRONG type of player or coach.
See Louiville. Look how bad that basketball team is. Or Bingham Bearcats basketball team-have YET to recover from what current Morgan State Coach Kevin Broadus did. 10+ years of losing records since 2009.

What Ed said was true. Too many guys sitting in charge of these schools doing nothing. It does not matter who OWNS the school. Money is money. There is ZERO excuse for what we see in terms of Football and basketball from these schools.

No other school WHORES out their basketball team to play D1 on the road in nonconference to get checks to support the sport programs. Not even Chicago State-who NEEDS all the checks they can get. Then we want to cry about play in games.
300+ D1 schools and we can't get them to play at HBCU?

And why fire Sims for 2-9 back to back when you CHOSE to move to the SWAC? How many players were left since you didn't play one year? 20? You don't have those MEAC markets anymore. Welcome to dealing with Texas, Bama, Miss and Louisiana athletics.

Exactly. He's lucky my petty ass isn't the AD; you're not gonna cash my check AND talk ish. He'd have 24 hours to hop right back on his live and walk back everything he said or he'd be right back in that support role at Miami.

I wouldn't even give him that. He'd be done. And what's more he's probably ruined himself with the white folks as far as a HC job anytime soon.
