The SWAC is soft. Let’s just admit it

I still see no reason for the touted J-State not being able to stop the run. They gave up 276 yds and 6.3 yds / carry despite having arguably the best defensive staff in college football history. Thurman is 2-time NFL DC, Mike Zimmer is a former NFL head coach and defensive guru, and Prime himself is immortalized in Canton.

Does it get any better than this? No excuses. Throughout 4 quarters, the top defense in FCS should have revealed itself especially with the depth obtained through the portal as compared to other BCF squads.
all year long we've heard about the supposed depth JSU has. couple players don't play and all i hear is excuses. last year it was JSU didn't care about SCSU. this year it's something else. nah, just got that ass whipped two years straight and outcoached by better coaching staffs.

Yet we didn’t change or scheme up anything people haven’t seen before. we literally ran the ball at straight them as we have done to teams all year. MEAC philosophy is simple.. run the ball, stop the run.
As someone who is MEAC…it’s really not. FAMU keeps beating MEAC teams and is predicated on throwing the ball.

This Celebration Bowl is one game.

And I'm sure Jackson State -- which had two weeks to prepare for NC Central -- scouted them, too.
A month (or more) vs two weeks…

JSU and NCCU had a common opponent that JSU beat. The CB is just one game…I don’t think you can definitely say the MEAC is more physical.

Howard beating JSU? Or what about Norfolk State? Morgan State?

The truth is JSU was the better team that just didn't prepare. Let's be real if JSU wouldn't have went for those two points they would've won. That one is on coaching. Also the coaching staff didn't really prepare for this game. They were concentrated on Colorado.
Man this cat had one of our top DL's in street clothes because nevermind. I'm done. Those guys had Washington, Pugh and even Broadway on their side. They prepared we were in disarray. SMH

It was more than a couple but go off. Congrats MEAC and thank Prime for two years of not taking this game serious.

Howard lost to Alabama State. FAMU beat SC State two years in a row. Hell, Valley beat NC Central last year.

Jackson State has lost in the Celebration Bowl because they've been outplayed on the defensive and offensive lines. That's what it comes down to.

Not because of missing starters and too many distractions pre-game? 😱

Bruh... that was NOT the same JSU team we were accustomed to seeing. Brown's undisciplined assed... just out of nowhere f'ing up, not tackling, ... too many new faces.

We're not talking about random regular season games. We're talking about the Big Game when everything is on the line. We were 6-5 last year and destroyed JSU on the world stage in front of millions of eyes. Also lost to Alabama A&M that same year.

We went 3-8 this year but beat NCCU, and they took it to JSU the physical way.

When the Championship was on the line JSU got outcoached and ultimately outplayed both years, and by supposedly much inferior talent.

No sir, I'll thank Buddy Pough and Co. for taking the game serious and not buying into all the talk that a JSU win was a formality.

And you can tell yourselves whatever makes you feel good out there in Jackson, but Deion doesn't call any plays. So you're telling me the OC, DC and ST coaches didn't take the game seriously either? Both years?

I guess next year when he starts taking ass whippins, and he's gonna take some thorough ass whippins, he won't have taken those games seriously either lol

True
Central did what they needed to do though. Played like their hair was on fire and threw every trick they had at us. Great job coaching and preparing

Y'all being...

If you remove Magic and Worthy from the 80s Lakers and have Pat Riley announce he's leaving before they play for a championship, do you think they win convincingly as they had all season?

Scott (Shadeur) was still there along w/ some subordinate Jabarrs but the whole team still will not function the same w/out key starters/contributors.

Same scenario w/ JSU last game. Key personnel missing. Major distractions off the field of play.

Done w/ this stupid conversation; it is over.

I want to discuss how shitty PV football continues to be amidst the $62M investment in a new facility.

Zero football championship since 2009, which used a shitty facility.

Listen bruh, I was thinking about letting you back into the Den, but with comments like this ^^^^^^^ you may have to stay out in the cold alittle longer.

Interesting. Losing players doesn't affect depth. Imagine that. Why you in here complaining about JSU? We didn't keep y'all from defending your crown.

Distractions? Nah. I think that angle got played up way too much. Jackson State's defense didn't play well in the game because some guys either were missing or underperformed. And with all that, they still had an opportunity to win at the end.

A bowl game is random, too.
