Nick Saban says he would play ASU and A&M

“I would be very much in favor of that,” Saban said when posed the question at SEC media days in Atlanta.'

Well, why hasn't he played them already? Auburn has played AAMU!

The question and response was for the Bama alumni. Wouldn't be surprised if AAMU, ASU or JSU are future opponents Saban is the master of sending messages to the players and alumni in interviews.

What's funny, Coach Saban has never coaches against a HBCU. I think, he already know the disadvantages that face our teams.

Nick Saban is a very, very smart man. He's also keenly aware of what's going on in America today. He marched with his players a few years ago when they wanted to send a message regarding the Black Lives Matter movement and the murder of George Floyd. He also is aware, I'm sure, of the renewed interest in HBCUs, and he probably knows he kinda stubbed his toe on the Jackson State NIL issue. Having said that, there is no way on GOD's Green Earth that Saban could have said ANYTHING OTHER THAN yes he is willing to play ASU and A&M. If he had said no, he would have been crucified in the media - - particularly the Black media, and especially here in this forum. I'm an ASU graduate and a big ASU football fan. I am also a Nick Saban fan, and a big Crimson Tide football fan. I'd love to get one of them big ol' Bama checks . . . lol . . . but I'm not sure I'd love to see my Hornets take that whupin' . . . but I don't think that's something any of us will have to worry about for a while. I don't see Bama playing ASU or A&M any time soon . . . and personally, I'm ok with that . . .

Yeah, the guy (I think his name is Scotty) who has an HBCU football YouTube page is asking every SEC coach about playing HBCUs whose schools haven't done or haven't scheduled an SEC. I'm sorry to me it looks like a beggar begging for crumbs when HBCUs can do better financially especially on the athletic end if they make bold moves. Begging isn't bold.

To me the only reason saban would want to play an HBCU is to beat them down brutally and send a message to any high ranked kid that why would you want anything to do with schools that can't touch us. I worked at a hotel to manage the internet for their team and trust me our resources are nowhere close. The players up close don't seem all that different, but the training, nutrition, scouting reports (yes I peeked at it), their own brand of water, the massage chairs, gaming rooms and other things they set up for them is absolutely amazing. Our AV crew had to set up their fight song to blast in our atrium as they exited the team busses. Dude is about 5'6" , but nobody questions him and his assistants are on pins and needles at all times, they are a tightly run ship and mistakes aren't tolerated, he would probably cut any kid that allows an HBCU to even score a TD. No thanks, all money ain't good money

There is nothing any HBCu has to gain by playing Alabama. Don't take the bait.

Maybe you are missing the point but it has NOTHING to do with playing them but the facts that Saban nor Alabama has never ever even thought about playing a HBCU which others have pointed out

Almost no one on this board is advocating that we play Bama

. I would love for Valley to play a Clark Atlanta and they bring their band. Or AAMU can host a Miles under a similar set up.

YES.

The problem is that some of us have 2 of them on the schedule in the same year with one of them usually being VUL. I would love for Valley to play a Clark Atlanta and they bring their band. Or AAMU can host a Miles under a similar set up.

CLARK ATLANTA? Have you seen their band? Or Morehouse band? You can fit the entire band on ONE bus. IJS...
