The odds of dying after getting a COVID-19 vaccine are virtually nonexistent.

According to recent data from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, you're three times more likely to get struck by lightning.

But you might not know that from looking at your social media feed.

A new NPR analysis finds that articles connecting vaccines and death have been among the most highly engaged with content online this year, going viral in a way that could hinder people's ability to judge the true risk in getting a shot.

The findings also illustrate a broader trend in online misinformation: With social media platforms making more of an effort to take down patently false health claims, bad actors are turning to cherry-picked truths to drive misleading narratives.

Experts say these storylines are much harder for companies to moderate, though they can have the same net effect of creating a distorted and false view of the world.

No masking and not social distancing impact people. Not putting a vaccine in your body doesn't impact anyone. Why should a person be subject to a medicine they don't want for others? Isn't that against personal life?

Here is the thing. Your decision — whatever it is in this situation — does not only impact you. You can talk about not trusting white people, the government or medical experts. And they have earned the mistrust. But when anyone decides to not mask, social distance or take the vaccine, they’re making livelihood choices for other people (family, friends and strangers). We know the consequences of that. That’s what separates this from most individual decisions that really don’t necessarily impact others. Literally every decision we make regarding our approach to navigating our current conditions with COVID will determine how we all collectively function.

Man you are wasting your time. They prefer to get their data off the corner from Pookie and Ray Ray.

LikeI said and I mean this seriously. Get sick with Covid because you won't mask up, social distance or take the vaccine stay where you are and heal yourself. Do not run to a hospital where they will use medicines you do not know the orgin of in an attempt to save your life.
Oh ok so let me get this right take my tax dollars and support welfare, foreigners, gay people movement and kill me because I don't want to take the vaccine? Yet y'all called Trump crazy?

You got vaccinations for chicken pox still caught it. Got vaccinations for measles still caught it. Got vaccinations for mumps still caught it. Oh yeah folks who got vaccinations for Covid-19 still catching. So what were you saying.

Smallpox. I never had a vaccination for chickenpox

Nobody is forcing anyone to take a vaccine, but just giving reasons why that’s something which should be considered if the goal is to reduce sickness and death.
Like I said I'm not against it or pushing for it. I'm just amazed at how people are mad each other on both sides. If folks don't want it I don't see how that hurts anyone. On the other hand I don't see how folks who don't want it got problems with folks that take it. That's my point.

Vaccines were never developed to prevent possible infections. They were developed to reduce severe disease and death. And those who have caught COVID-19 after being vaccinated haven’t died.

I know folks with diabetes and hypertension who caught it that didn't die.

Because the country’s reliance on “personal responsibility” and selective individual decision-making, and “free will” (such as some states having mandates and some not. Some states are wide open while others have restrictions) instead of collective efforts has gotten us in this position where there just has been so much needless suffering.

I do, too. I know folks who were healthy as a horse who either die or suffer from long COVID.

How the virus responds in each individual is so unpredictable, which is why all of these layers — masking, distancing, hygiene and vaccines are so important.
I agree with all except for making folks take a drug. I can't support that.

For me, this is a simple decision... 550K people died due to covid. Up to this point, no deaths have been attributed to taking the covid vaccines. Why would I risk dying from covid by not taking the vaccine. This is illogical to me! I got my 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine on 2/25 and had no side effects.

And there are a bunch of who people feel the same way about rules “making” them wear a mask, too.
But that has nothing to do with taking the shot. Many people I know who don't want to take the shot wear mask and social distance. They just don't want the shot. They should not be penalized for that. Bottom line.

Personally speaking, the only people I know that died are people who went to the hospital to get treatment and went under a ventilator! Again, that's only the people I know personally. The people that stayed home and toughed it out old school are still with us!

I'm almost 100% certain you will only see a few, if any, die from the covid vaccines. We are told to trust the science, but disregard the safeguards that were put in place to protect us from politicized or faulty science. I just don't understand what's wrong with telling people that these covid vaccinces are experiments or "trials". People should have the option of if they want to be part of an experiment or not. Once the effectiveness has been proven, those who were skeptical may get on board.
