Righ!! Great question..... Some of these backwards thinkers are hilarious.LOLWith all due respect, other than media being being denied(and I’m a videographer for news organization, so I understand media frustration) what were the other negatives?

For a SWAC Championship game, SU would take over, trust me.Same thing that will happen if PV or UAPB host it. I trust that Dr. Mac will discuss with every school on making accommodations in case their school hosts it.
In Valley's case, to be honest, the only schools that bring a crowd are JSU, Alcorn and UAPB (somewhat). I don't think Southern is taking over Valley, Alabama State or AAMU if those schools host the SCG.
As I said before, if they go with the on campus model, we'll see if it really works if we get a AAMU/PV matchup with either school hosting it not Valley because we are centrally located like Alcorn and JSU
We have to play the percentages. What the percentages of them schools making it to the championship? Valley, PV, UAPB, Txsu, etc....15 years out of 1?
People were standing, in the SRO , and sitting on the hills. If everybody would have sat down in the stands, it wouldn’t have been any room. No, seems about right. It was a great crowd, but it wasn't a sellout. There were still some gaps of empty seats that could be seen in stands.
You ain't wrong they are.Yo SWAC, N$$ here......I'm a bigtime Aggie backer and will be in the ATL for the Celebration Bowl.
I'm damn proud of Alcorn (and Southern) for packing Jack Spinks Stadium and showing love for their respective teams.
I'm sure this game did a lot for the university and the surrounding community.
I may be wrong, but I just don't think this game would have been as memorable or exciting if it was in Birmingham or Houston. Furthermore, I'm sure Alcorn State fans will be talking about this game for years to come because the community got invested into it (financially and locally).
For comparison, the 2017 SWAC championship game drew 24,610 in Houston, but the stadium holds 71,795 folks.......
I don't recall last year's game generating a buzz on TV......
I'd rather the universities and local communities reap the benefits for a game like yesterday than a larger community who could care less if the game was played there or not.....
Just my take......Alright Alcorn, hope y'all Brave enough again to take another Aggie azzwhippin' in the ATL. Ain't no booty like SWAC booty. Tastes like Cheerios.....
All jokes aside, I hope you guys make it safe to the ATL and bring the Jack Spinks Stadium atmosphere with ya. It was a GREAT LOOK!!!
For a Championship game SU is coming. Not sure why you think we wouldn't. Usually when we come to Valley our fans think of it as an easy win and just don't make the trip. If Valley is good and hosting the championship just add some temporary seats and we'll be there.Same thing that will happen if PV or UAPB host it. I trust that Dr. Mac will discuss with every school on making accommodations in case their school hosts it.

There are pros and cons to any given situation. And it's understandable that fans, who don't appreciate (nor understand) the other nuances that are necessary to put a game like this on to have the views that they do. Given the flow of events that have taken place since it was announced that the SCG was canceled, I'm appreciative this game was played yesterday - even on campus. All I'm saying is that I don't know if this setup is the best situation for the SCG long term. With all due respect, other than media being denied(and I’m a videographer for a news organization, so I understand media frustration) what were the other negatives?
IndeedRigh!! Great question..... Some of these backwards thinkers are hilarious.LOL
Kenn could it be that the conference want to put more of a focus on the CB and this is a consolation for the schools to continue having a championship game. Take the smaller championship game with hope that more fans will travel to the CB.There are pros and cons to any given situation. There are a number of games that come to mind that were played in either Birmingham or Houston that would challenge this thought. As exciting as the game was yesterday, I wouldn't put it down as one of the greatest SCGs of all time.I may be wrong, but I just don't think this game would have been as memorable or exciting if it was in Birmingham or Houston.
Nope, this has NOTHING to do with the CB. The CB is owned and operated by ESPN Events. This is simply about doing what is in the best interest FINANCIALLY for the conference.Kennedy could it be that the conference want to put more of a focus on the CB and this is a consolation for the schools to continue having a championship game. Given the formula as I understand it, it's possible. Alcorn kept the gate. The SWAC paid for Southern's travel expenses. So you think the conference lost money yesterday? Just asking.
Simply put, the SWAC got lucky. If AAMU and let's say a Texas Southern makes it to the SCG, what would that look like?
I've never seen a packed stadium in Huntsville....EVER.It would be packed in Huntsville
:snicker:
Dude, your own fans don't bother to attend on a consistent basis. Don't get me started.Just because your money isn't long enough to make it that far doesn't mean others aren't. Plus our fans are hungry for another title, which will happen before JSU ever smells a scintilla of the scent of a title.
Now with that said @JR the SWAC likely made its money via any sponsorship money it may have generated.Given the formula as I understand it, it's possible. Alcorn kept the gate. The SWAC paid for Southern's travel expenses.

I’m sure Alcorn keep the money minus expenses. They mad plenty of money on parking and tailgating alone.Given the formula as I understand it, it's possible. Alcorn kept the gate. The SWAC paid for Southern's travel expenses.
Man, what I do to you? LOL@Herbert77060 whats the date we play yall next year?
