Under Robinson, PV's athletic department competed for the commissioner's cup on a consistent basis. Wonder why you failed to mention one word of that in your diatribe?
Heck, your athletic program is in better shape than two thirds of the SWAC...including JSU's.
Even more, PV's football program, under his tenure, has been the second best in the SWAC.
I wonder what PV's athletic program was like pre-Robinson. Let me do some checking around.

PV's football program has completed a 360 compared to 1990. The program rose from the ashes like a phoenix. They should be commended.
When Prairie View suspended football in 1990, it was the first
year since 1925 that the school was without a team. The
financial scandal, in which there were charges of money
mismanagement by members of the athletic department,
precipitated the move; school officials hoped that a year off
might give those in charge of the program time to figure out a
way to regroup and perhaps reinvent itself. A campaign to
solicit donations from alumni proved a waste of time. A mailer
asking for money reached 30,000 alumni, only about 150 of whom
bothered to give anything. Athletic department officials
discovered that it was easier to raise funds for new band
uniforms than for a scholarship kitty for the football team.

Ashley Robinson singlehandedly saved PVAMU football from the 80 consecutive game losing streak. He personally orchestrated funding those first 15 full scholarships we offered in 1999/2000. Funny how he did that when he was still a student lol. smh

I'll stop trolling. Good luck to Ashley Robinson in his quest to make JSU athletically viable.

Welcome to Tigerland Ashley. You might suck but at least now you are at a real school with real fans and real traditions.
Here you will at least have a chance to do great things, unlike that other place.
The white folks don't run/own/control us tho so you have to do it all on your own. Sorry.
 



Seems like the ok dude man is on the clock. Jackson Football will be going in another direction in November, must be able to win Football games at a place like that Mississippi and JSU needs better. The Air Raid hopefully works but I don’t see it raiding much this year.
 
Lmao Hughes will either win or be sent packing. One thing is for sure he needed to upgrade his offense and he took measures for this upcoming season to adhere to that. You aren't gonna win scoring 12ppg. With that being said new OC, new QB coach, new TE coach, 2 new QBs, and linemen etc. We will be fine in Jackson MS.

JSU President William Bynum had been talking to candidates vying to be Jackson State's new vice president and director of athletics for several days when he finally got an opportunity to speak with Ashley Robinson.

When Robinson told him he wanted the job, it made Bynum's decision easy.

"When he expressed interest in the job, I just told him thank you," Bynum said. "You just made my job a lot easier, because you're going straight to the top of the list."

Bynum introduced the 38-year-old Robinson to a packed ballroom at a press conference in the JSU Student Center Tuesday, almost exactly six months after he fired Robinson's predecessor Wheeler Brown.

Robinson, a Murrah High School and Mississippi Valley State grad, touted his Jackson roots and pledged to unite the alumni.

"It's strange," he said. "It feels good to leave home, but it feels even better coming back."

Oh there is SOOOOOOOOOO much here....

"Simmons took a program that was 14-19 in the three seasons before he arrived and led them to a 21-11 record in three years before leaving for Florida A&M in December. " *smoke and mirrors*

"We had a good thing going at Prairie View," Robinson said. "But coming home and being a part of Jackson State and a bigger tradition (of a school) that really believes in the importance of athletics." *smoke and mirrors*

No digg but how can a school profess to "believe in the importance of athletics" when it sports the 7th lowest budget in the SWAC and is in the bottom 10 of all division-I schools in the united states of america?
